Hey all, just a quick question. I have been recreationally using valium on and off for 6 months. Currently I only take about 30 mgs once every 10-14 days (sometimes even 20 days) because I am highly aware (and afraid tbh) of benzo addiction potential. My question is, am i running any risk of physical addiction? I dont experience cravings or WD symptoms as of yet but i want to be on top of things. Thanks in advance!

No I do this for years every 10-15 days some times 2-3 per week some times once a month some times never in a month etc but usually when the stress period is high I use them I do various benzos Valium lexotanil ativan Xanax etc etc , I think the problem arise when you take them everyday for long periods like more than 10-15 days in a row I had an experience in the past I used 2 packs of Xanax 1-2 pills everyday until I run out and I had some very mild withdrawals basically rebound anxiety for a week

The same goes for about any Benzo,
taking em regular feels to me just very innocent just habit-forming.
Its that i know they are physically addicting and the WD dangerous.
That in my brain something else takes place,

with Diazepam, Temazepam and Etizolam i actually get some
recreative effects. So those are ime also sort of drugs, though the
half-live of Diazepam is imo to long. Otherwise.
But addiction/ WD seen, they all the same, basically.

But i can only see habit forming with such response able use.
Though know after 5 day s Diazepam,
it was still in my urine about 15 days later.
The effects stiil noticeably felt till 17 days later !
[after 5 days totalling 180 mg]

Thanks for the response and for easing my mind. Ill keep proceeding with caution.

You should be fine. But if you start needing to increase your dose for the same effect, then you might want to be concerned.

I think they all can be recreationall if you enjoy the effects for time they’re recreationall if I mix them with weed that’s when I really enjoy them. However I don’t take them recreationally I take them mainly if I can’t stand the stress I have bad case of anxiety who I usually can manage on my own but if the bad anxiety lingers more than 1-2 days then I’m gonna take a benzo to help me cause I have this problem for a lot of years. I don’t wanna get them prescribed cause I don’t wanna get in the hole , the WD’s are very bad , however I can see myself get them prescribed in the future for all my life with a stable dosage for ever I know many people who have not problems take 1-2 benzos a day for all their life they’re really useful medicines if y need them but they really require a discipline not to abuse them and not to get addicted they’re probably the worst ones to get addicted yourself into.
Also personally lorazepam for some reason doesn’t take my anxiety away paradoxically can make me anxious . My favorite is diazepam followed by bromazepam followed by alaprozam

Just saw this now, thanks for the share. I've been doing a lot of reading on GABA and this is great timing. I decided to take a 30 day minimum break a day ago to give my system a reboot. I've been struggling with thoughts of relapse (opiates is my DOC) and the valium helps manage that without psychological or phyical addiction (so far), but definitely not looking for a two monkeys on my back. One is plenty.
