Bupe question about IV suboxone

oh i know that. im just curious if its safe to shoot something thats been sitting in my rig all day

Probably not safe. "All day" could be 2 hours, 4 hours, or 24 hours.

How long, exactly, has it been sitting there?

Before micron filtering, I left a shot out for about 4 hours, once. However, even this is risky. I still did it, but it's not 100% fool-proof safe.

This is why micron filtering with bacteriostatic water is excellent; you eliminate bacteria and inactive ingredients (at least most of the harmful ones, as long as you use a correct pore size for the last filter) as well as enabling it to be perfectly fine to use for a much longer period. How long a micron filtered solution can last is debatable but I would safely assume up to 28 days.

When you do not use a micron filter with bacteriostatic water, you want to use your solution immediately, and no longer than 1 to 2 hours afterwards at the most. Anything beyond this is running the risk of injecting a colony of growing bacteria into your circulation system. This can lead to much worse problems than just missing a shot or having to waste a shot.

It's when you leave it for days/weeks when you get bacteria problems

I don't believe this at all.

You may not have a problem from doing this once, but if you do it enough times, it is possible to run the risk of developing a slowly progressing infection in a part of your body where once it's begun, it'll almost be impossible to start (think your heart).

do you think this could possibly be cotton fever or could it be something unrelated to the injection?

Yes, I believe it was because you injected bacteria within the solution.

yeah i didnt think it was so safe which is why before i used the solution i had refiltered it. so i'm assuming it was either from bacteria or it could have been cotton fever because the chills i had right after i had thrown up felt like it was cotton fever and the headache i've had all day felt like it too, but i had never thrown up from cotton fever. i still have sweats and a headache and my legs are bothering me but the nausea went away now after doing the .5mg so i dont know really what i should do. maybe i need a bit more to feel alright? but i dont want to waste it because i only have 2mg left and then im all out. i also am nodding a little bit from the suboxone. i hate these complications from injecting!

Save the rest of your Suboxone.

It was likely due to bacteria which grew in the solution.

You should just try to ride it out. If you start to feel worse, or it isn't getting better within a matter of hours, seek medical attention.

shit i shoulda just taken the bupe as directed and i could have avoided all this crap =/ sucks

Yes but it is OK - you can take it sublingually whenever you honestly feel like you need to.

I am hoping for the best for you, hopefully you will feel better soon.

I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. :)

Now you can tell other people the dangers of letting a shot sit out too long.

Since this thread wrapped itself up I'm going to close it; feel free to PM me if you have any other questions.
