I've been diagnosed with depression as of a few years ago. I took tons of different ssri's and the like and just either didn't like them or at that time didn't put enough effort through the first 2 weeks of feeling tired all the time then another few weeks without any noticeable change.

But 2 months ago I decided to try again (Ive matured) I was prescribed Remeron and have been taking it since day one.

My problem I guess is that if I miss a day by accident or I just forgot them at home I have terrible sleep waking up a few times an hour sweating a little bit and even my muscles in my legs ache. So I want to switch medication I guess, I'm not really sure though because Ive really stuck with this medication for far longer then I have in the past so why throw it away now? But if Im feeling like that after skipping it for a night I'm scared it may get worse. Confused

Well how is it working for your depression? If it's working then don't fix what ain't broke. Pretty much all psych medicine is going to have reprecussions if you miss a dose by "accident" or you "forget them". It's something that you just can't forget, take them at the same time everyday to help you remember, like right before bed (remeron is pretty sedating, I was prescribed it for insomnia)

Thanks for taking the time to reply :)

I don't know if its working, that's the thing its really hard for me to see the difference and I don't really have anyone that would notice. It did put me to sleep for the first two weeks but after that I can pretty much take it anytime and not feel tired. I seem to build up a quick tolerance to anything that is sedating. I do take it at the same time everyday before bed but I still forget as hard as I try not to and it just ends up in a miserable night that throws off my sleep schedule for the next few days :/

I've been on Remeron for about four months now....maybe five... I had the same issues you are having, but things have mellowed out in the last month or so. I guess it just took time to adjust in my system. I was also prescribed it because I need to gain some weight, and that seems to be working now too. I've gained maybe 5 pounds in the last month or so. It hasn't made a huge difference in my depression, but enough to encourage me to keep taking them. I'll give them another few months and see how they work out. I usually give up on anti-depressants fairly early on....so maybe some patience on my part will pay off.

Missing your psych meds can definitely mess you up. Do you have any other bedtime ritual, such as brushing your teeth? I would recommend making your Remeron part of that ritual, such as taking it right before you brush your teeth, setting your alarm, at the same time as your favorite TV program, etc. You might want to get a small pill tray.

Yeah I do have a pretty good bed time ritual that I do every night when I get home. Maybe I will leave them in my medicine cabinet in my bathroom and take it when I brush my teeth every night. I forgot about the weight gain actually, Ive gained close to 15 pounds since I have started, I definitely needed the weight. Hopefully now I can stop gaining though :/
