Question about codeine capsules

Hi, I got 2 codeine capsules 30mg/500mg paracetamol) out (red and white) and put them aside, i came back to get them to find they went a bit gooey from putting them on a wet surface, is it still ok to take them?

It should be fine to take them - you'd take them with liquid anyway and the capsule would go gooey before dissolving entirely.

If you are going to open the capsules then you might as well do a cold water extraction and filter out the APAP while you're at it.

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be okay to take them. And yes, you could open the capsules if you wanted to and just swallow the powder- probably want something like juice or soda to mask the taste.

Don't know what your tolerance is like, but if you are Opioid naive, you may want to start with just one. 30mg's of Codeine isn't that much, but 60mg for someone without a tolerance could be enough to cause some discomfort such as nausea. Be safe.

Well, quite frankly, i'm not a people pleaser so irritated may the bluelight people be. Instead of wasting time telling me that, as a moderator, do you have a safe answer to my question? I'm in pretty bad pain and the alternative is tramadol which will have me up all night feeling "weird".

^its not a matter of pleasing people, its a matter of you reducing the odds you'll get as many responses which, from a pragmatic standpoint, seems antithetical to what you desire.

As they mentioned, they're fine to dose. If they are combination products, make sure you aren't ingesting too much APAP or consider a cold water extraction.

I see you only have two pills so nevermind about CWE or consuming too much apap

Yes, i take codeine daily but 60mg will still do the trick for pain and a bit of euphoria too. Rarely will i notice a big amount of tolerance building up. I generally dont do CWE as I usually don't take more than 1000mg a time. Thanks!
