Can anyone tell me exactly what queluddes are and what they do. I am somewhat familiar with them, but i would like to know before i pick some up. Thanx.

Quaaludes are a CNS depressant and were prescribed as a sedative. However, quaaludes have not been made in almost 20 years. Any quaaludes you get are almost certainly fake. They probably contain benzodiazepines like valium or xanax, which are the modern equivalents. If I were you, I would avoid anything that someone is selling as 'ludes. If you want a downer, try getting some benzos or opiates.

Most of the fakes going around are actually HIGH doses of strong benzo's...so although you wouldn't be getting acutal ludes, you could still get a great deal on some benzo's.
If they say "Lemmon 714" and look JUST like the real thing, only firmly pressed, you may just want to pick up a few...

Well, it doesn't matter anymore, cuz my boy isnt gonna end up picking them up, but if it helps any, he was going to sell them for about 10-15 a piece.

Also i would be concerned that while you may know that these are actually benzos you dont know which one and the amount, normally diazeam (valiium) is used, but ive heard oxazepam and a few others. I think i would watch taking any illicit "lude" as it is almost guaranteed to be fake and another drug altogether. If i knew anyone who had some i would make him give some to me since theyre fake anyway but ive never seen em around. Your better off buying a shitload of a particular benzo from china......

i was under a different impression.
apparently, there is a growing interest in 'ludes in the tri-state area, and so doctors now are not allowed to call in for prescriptions for 'ludes. nonetheless, i am also curious to know about this.. thanks for the info that people have provided thus far!

Umm. Okay I may be missing something here... But just to reiterate...
You are correct, doctors cannot call in scripts for Qualuudes. This is because there are no Qualuudes. They aren't made anymore. Since they are no longer produced, they are no longer prescribed. Since they are not prescribed or produced, they cannot be called in.

Who says you can't call in a script for 'ludes? Just call up yer local pharmacy, say yer from "Doc Johnsons office" and that you're phoning in a script - "that would be Quaalude 300mg, number 90, refill 6" ... just give 'em yer name and go get yer goodies!
The only documented report I saw said "amounts of oxazepam and bromazepam far in excess of that found in the legitimate pharmacutical market" - there was no indication of what "excessive" was - but having ate these, I am confident that "excessive" wasn't that much more then you find in the high-dose pills - so for $3-$5 each, the "new 'ludes" are actually a decent buy - you WILL get mashed.. but it ain't the real thing, sorry, it's been off the market for over 15 years now, and the highs were actually signifigantly distinct (that of benzos and methaqualone) - someone who has had the REAL thing would not be fooled by the fakes... the thing is, the new market is mainly kids who were still in diapers when you could get the real thing...
DanceSafe tested one and found diazepam - I had not heard of Valium mentioned in the DEA report, but you can get ANY benzo in bulk for pennies a gram - see, in countries where it's OTC, they can sell a POUND of pure Valium for under $500 - less if they really buy a lot!
Consider that there might be 20mg of Valium in a pill - thats 22,680 pills from yer pound of Valium .. if each of those pills were sold for $.50 EACH then the presser is making a KILLING - and if their operation got busted, they are facing a slap on the wrist! These guys are smart - the *REAL* money is in the LEGAL DRUGS marketed as the ILLEGAL ONES .. in this case, the name sells!
It also looks like they cranked up their pill press, as while NO ONE in my area has a steady line on the 160mg OxyContin, I can think of about 10 people with "the real 'ludes" ..
But wait, I know what yer saying, "My boy has the REAL LUDES!" - I have some of the fakes, and I have had the real thing - if the pills yer looking at are CLEAN PRESSED and FIRM then you DIDN'T GET THE REAL THING, as a 15 y/o pill is going to be a little less then perfect.. but I digress..

Its very rare, but quaaludes are still out there. Ive done them. They are very expensive but rather easy to make. An associate of mine is very very rich and buys them. He has done quaaludes since he was 19 and now owns a business, hes like 40. After they were illegal in ALL counties, he had them made by chemists, and now has a connection to buy them. He will buy 1000 at a time, and they cost 22.50 A piece!!!! There not even too strong, two did me good, he can do 3 or 4. The methaqualone high is good, a different flavor from the typical downer. He has more then one connection like that. So, as rare as it would be to come across them, it is possible. That article is reporting on shit that happened 20 years ago. Things are alot different today. Look at todays figures and you'll quickly see that every single "quaalude" tab that has been seized has turned out to be benzos.
$22,500 for 1000 ludes (even the real thing) is a rip off. Your rich friend is yankin your chain.

Out of curiousity, why isn't methaqualone made in *other* countries as a pharmaceutical. Or Mexico as just another street drug to hit the US?
I've heard some stories from some folks with 20-30 years on me. They all made it sound like quaalude was far better than most street drugs of today, "even better than the real PCP back then".
