Purple Lake

There’s this place I found by sheer mistake
It’s still but for the breeze
My vantage point looks to the lake
Alone but for the tree’s

Silence so loud that help’s me think
Lillie’s ponder this and that
Fish that see the water blink
Where drake’s call one another quack

The house that look’s so sad today
Call’s me to feel it’s wall’s
Where children must have loved to play
Now mortar crack’s and fall’s

It’s my place now a precious hide
As summer starts to wake
Let hope that time is on it’s side
Forever purple lake
