How can I purify denaturated alcohol which contains ethyl salicylate and methylene blue?

im not sure you will be able to do this without some pretty solid chem supplies.

maybe try ADD.

also why do you want to do this/what are you trying to extract this from?

I'm just trying to extract the ethanol for drinking. Denaturated alcohol is very popular in my country among poor people because it's ten times cheaper than the cheapest vodka.Unlike other countries, this denaturated alcohol doesn't contain any methanol so it's not that toxic.
Some people even drink 1 liter of this stuff each day.
Some filter it through bread and swear by it...I am not sure how this works.
Could some activated charcoal absorb the unwanted substances?

Active charcoal should remove the methylene blue. I'm almost 100% sure we did the same exact experiment in organic chemistry, the removal of impurities through the use of active charcoal.

The ethyl salicylate should be able to be distilled off. If not perhaps try jacking (partial freezing of the liquid). If it can be jacked it would be easier to remove the ethyl salicylate just because you dont need to distill.

Someone check my chemistry. I'm good but everyone needs a second opinion.
