purification of MDA

hi

a friend of mine has a grip of mda powder that seems to have been made by somewhat of a lazy chemist. it is bright gold yellow with a few brown specks here and there. is it possible to wash or re-crystalize this product or clean it up in some way? it isnt cut with anything else its just not quite as white as he would like...perhaps an acetone wash?

ive been searching around but i cant find too much info on purifying mda

a/b extraction or something? enlighten me bluelighters.

oh yeah, my friend knows some may be lost in the process, but clearly he has enough so that its a non issue :) :)

i'm no words except off-topic.
i think your "friend" can try anhydrous acteone wash.
 
it really is a friend, im too poor to afford all that stuff because i spend all my money on other drugs. sorry if this was the wrong forum im not sure what you meant by the first part.
 
Acetone wash seems to be the standard method... obviously keep and evaporate the acetone, as it will contain some of the MDA (ie, you'll recover a small amount of extra-dirty MDA).

And, goddamn, i wish i had your friend!
 
g0to: im not worried about the attention, its not a big deal where I live. and the only drugs i have in my house are a few joints and a few shrooms. my friend that has this lives in BC which is 3000 miles from here. big deal.

theAzo: thanks man, i will look into it. and yeah hes a pretty cool friend im hoping for him to mail me a few grammes once he gets the shit cleaned up.
 
A photo doesn't make it more or less legit. I'm surprised how similar this looks to MDAI. I shouldn't really be surprised I guess.
 
this cant be MDAI then, it dissolves easily in water, he actually mentioned that to me when we were chatting about the acetone. it definitely needs to be cleaned up, apparently its not as strong as it should be.
 
No I mean. I own some MDAI, and it does not dissolve in water. I was just curious if MDA was the same. I'm not saying you have MDAI, I was just wondering if they were similar in their solubility profiles as I noticed they look similar.

But yes, you answered me anyway. Intriguing. I guess MDAI stands pretty alone molecularly.
