Public Labs Spectrometer testing

Dear community,

This little gem caught my eye http://store.publiclab.org/products/desktop-spectrometry-kit-3-0 and I am curious to what degree this tool may be useful in comparing new samples, lets say of MXE, to known good samples.

Whoa awesome. No idea if it works, would love to try it though. In theory it's a nice idea tho

It only uses visible (not useful to us) and NIR which needs a very robust calibration. Given the cost I think it's worth trying but really I think we'd need mid-infrared.

That should be similarly do-able though so it's a shame nobody has developed it.

Same technology (NIR), same problem. Definitely worth investigating but I won't hold too much hope.

Shipping date has been pushed back over a year on that one.
