Many of us who survived the '80s and '90s lost scores of friends to HIV-related illnesses. Now we are "of a certain age" and many of us, both HIV positive and negative, have been experiencing symptoms that are similar to PTSD. Recently, clinicians saw a common thread and created a support network. http://letskickass.org/what-is-ass/ ASS is AIDS Survivor Syndrome.
I've been suffering from sometimes disabling anxiety for the past 10-15 years. I've been treating it with daily doses of cymbalta and clonapin "as needed."
I'm excited by the prospect of some of these new therapies using psychedelic drugs, ketamine, or even marijuana with high levels of CBD and low THC. Finding a provider who does this sort of therapy, even here in the "anything goes" Bay Area, has been daunting.
If anyone can point me at a doctor or a clinic that uses theses new therapies, I'd appreciate it greatly.

Welcome; we're glad to have you here! <3 you might consider contacting maps.org also have you considered shilajeet? or otherwise known as black asphaltum? it's great for immunity disorders like AID's or HIV. try doing some reading; you need to get the purified stuff though.

but PTSD is hard to deal with; love and support! i used to have PTSD associated with witnessing my mother attempt suicide and stopping it.

PTSD is unique because it can effect everyone in different ways at different times. i have PTSD from to different experiences and i go to school for behavioral science and ive learned a some facts but none of the research out there as helped me with it. what as helped the most for me is just accepting that i have it and it is effecting me.
