Semi-experienced, 10 or so mushroom trips ~2-3.5g and two memorable dates with Lucy.

There are so many similarities between the two compounds and I have always been in the company of 1 or more friends while tripping. I've noticed that usually friends disturb or disrupt important personal experiences.

Ex. have you ever been on an amazing tangent, exploring every tiny little door that opens and segways into a new topic or emotion/ memory/ feeling and then something juts you back to reality with "what are you thinking about?"

The thoughts slip through your fingers like quicksand as you try to reach for them, grasping at shreds of the insight stemming from unknown origin.

I personally have to focus my mind on a single point: whether image or thought and let my subconscious take over and explore the depths of my imagination.

The closest to tripping alone has been in a completely pitch black room (with friends) while listening to music via headphones and splitter between us. How comfortable should one be before they trip alone?

It's your trip. It's up to you man. It sounds like you're wanting to look inward for your journey and that is valid. On the other hand a trip with a date or lover or or just good friends can also be very satisfying experiences. But if you wish to be alone at this time, then so be it.

I think people are part of the setting itself - it's all about where you feel most comfortable. Are you introverted or extrovert? An extrovert might enjoy a trip more in the presence of others, while an introvert might prefer to be alone - however on top of that you also have to consider where you feel most comfortable if something goes wrong, in my case that's with someone to talk to etc, and if I don't have that it can make difficult moments in a trip harder to deal with.

I'd say to remedy that, the best thing you can do is make sure when you trip alone, you have the choice to be able to change scenery and meet up with people if you feel like it - don't lock yourself into one option alone. That way if things were to get a little too weird, you just change things up and it's all good! :)
