This is my first time posting, and they posts here have always been helpful for me, so I came here to see if anyone had an Idea or could point me in a right direction in what I should do to help my brother. My brother has been tripping for a while on all sorts of things, lsd, mushrooms, some RCs, Dmt, the list goes on, but just recently he went to the hospital and has been going back repeatedly for various problems.
One night he was tripping on what was thought to be acid (turned out to be DOC) and he did some nitrous and smoked some weed, and after a balloon of nitrous, his body went numb, but the feeling never came back on the right side of his body. We waited for a good 6 hours, and he said nothing changed. We took him to the ER, but they gave him the diagnosis (which after talking to other doctors turned out to be false) of peripheral neuropathy.
The numbness was unilateral, only the right side of his body and it lasted. There didnt seem to be any weakness of muscles, just loss of sensation. he said it was like wearing a thick wet suit on the right side of his body.
We went to go see a neurologist and got an appt for and MRI (w/wo contrast) and and MRA. Before these tests could be done he tripped on some acid and then smoked some weed and it happened again to the left side of the body. We went back to the hospital, they gave him some sort of benzo, and sent him away telling him to get the tests done.
It happened again to him yesterday when he smoked some weed and took a gram of shrooms to the right side of the body again, except with some more marked motor differences. he was having a hard time moving. The MRI and MRA came out clear. No stroke, no bleeding, no seizures. It somehow seems to be related to the psychedelics and the cannabis. I don't understand that because most typical psychedelics and weed are some of the safest drugs physiologically. There must be some sort of underlieing problem, but all the tests that have been run, which are numerous, have come back clean. He also does take Lamictal, and the last hospital visit they mentioned that that might have a part in it.

If anyone has ever heard of anything like that or has any idea as to what it could be, please let me know. This has been a huge worry to us. He's no longer taking any psychedelics, but even still we can't figure out what the cause is. If anyone has anything they could share that would be great. Thanks!

i don't know why it's happening. however there appears to be a simple pattern of when it happens
