So I was talking to my friend a little bit ago and we got on the topic of grey hairs... I'm 25 and have some And am obviously a psychedelic user. It seems that he knows many people that have been users of psychedelics, organics afaik, that have a lot of grey hairs at a younger age than most. I found This odd and Idk if there is any correlation with This suggestion but that's what im wondering. Obviously age and genes have a hand In these things.

Is there any data to suggest that psychedelics have a tendency to make grey or even white hairs appear? Even better, for the users on this forum, have you noticed more grey hairs since you began using them? This more of a curiosity than a reason for debate.

I think your just around the age that grey hairs start to show. I had grey hairs, before my 20th birthday, mostly above my sideburns, which was well into my psych trials. Now I've lived an almost unbearably stressful life, some people and scientists say greys are stress related. It's also hereditary, I know a guy whose hair was a solid shade of silver, before his 30th birthday, but so was his dad, and grandfather. I haven't seen such and article, about psychs causing premature greying, but it could be possible.

I started on DXM unfortunately. I started noticing them when I was 19 actually. All white, never had a grey. They're at my temples and top head now. And 50% of my balls too, that's sort of a disappointment. The wizard explanation makes sense though. I wonder if many psych users have more stressers than most.

stress, man, stress...

I wish my hair would turn entirely grey though. I pulled a couple grey hairs out of my side-burns last winter when I was stressed to the point of anxiety attack-- I haven't noticed them coming back anymore now that I am living peacefully.

Well my dad had a head full of white at 30 so im not surprised. I have dreadlocks so the effect is sort of neat. But I do wish there were more since I can't really pull them out.

It's mainly stress and hereditary genes.
If psycadelics make you stress, then that may be a reason for the gray hairs.
A better question would be- Do "trippers" stress more than "non trippers"?

Tripping has got to be one of the most stressful things you can do...

i always had this strange theory that old people with white hair had reached some form of enlightenment…. it seems more aesthetically pleasing then grey

as for stress, alders huxleys face seems quite strained towards the end

but that might not be the tripping - i was sitting on a high road earlier on a sunny day looking at all the dreadfully miserable people… mouths sloping down at the sides from so much frowning… and the bags under so many peoples' eyes… it's a cruel world, and these people have barely touched drugs

Just look at this guy. I rest my case.

I notice this every time I get in my car-- people sitting behind the wheel, lodged in traffic, staring blankly, frowning, lifelessly ahead of them, looking like they wished they were dead. I can't help but laugh when I see people like this-- as bad as it is-- because happiness is a choice. But that's for another thread...

would be interesting if different psyches gave different hair colors :) grey is soo... grey. seems more like lsd should colour in yellow, mushrooms in green and so on...

back to ot, personally ive got grey hairs either way, genetics are wonderful. no speeing up of the process because of use.

I am from london, that city its a breeding ground for stress, i see stress in almost every eye and face in london.
Possibly its like this all over the UK, but it really is noticeable in London. I think its the fact that there is not really any value for money, people have to work hard, and the public transport is overcrowded and depressing. London pushes people to use drugs so they can deal with stresses that the cities causes daily.

Once i got the hell out of london and the UK i really hardly notice stressed people anymore. I also started seeing grey hairs after i got into lsd, i was bout 19. My father has a few, so i feel its probably genetic.

i can see why you'd laugh; it tends to be the only way to confront awful realities

gonna go offtopic here

but i dont think people do realise that happiness is a choice

fear controls both authority and citizen; a powerful force

many do genuinely feel compelled to follow expectations and fit a template in their heads

i was reading a 5meodmt trip and he mentioned how "we are our own worst enemy; all neuroses comes from within"

but most psychedelic users know these truths all too well

i guess all you can do is stay happy....

but then again it might just be london!

I take psychedelics, no grey hairs, and I am 34. I have friends who dont take psychedelics, and they do have grey hairs. I think it has more to do with genes than anything.
