All I'm saying is it's not rational, on health grounds, to avoid GBL when you happily neck a bottle of buckie.

It's rational on "historical and cultural" grounds, though.

I don't sniff glue but not because I think it's bad for my health, just because I don't really enjoy it. I don't really like the sound of GBL, so I haven't went out my way to get some.

 

I think it sounds quite good! But I missed out on it when it was legal. I might import a small quantity though.

 

I'm not very good at being careful with dosage & I'm not really a fan of passing out lol.

 

I'm a big fan of GBL / GHB (its real easy to make GHB out of GBL btw - all you need is some sodium hydroxide, some sodium carbonate and a universal indicator paper. i wish i'd done this more in hindsight as GBL does irritate your throat and oesophagus, though again its not really any worse than the booze if you dilute it down enough. )

For me it has a lot of the benefits of alcohol (and lots extra too), but most importantly it lacks a lot of the negatives. You can't black out on it like booze, you just feel ill / fall asleep. This means you dont need to worry about getting tanked up and going on a drunken rampage - if that's something you're prone to doing, i unfortunately am so this was a big plus point for GBL with me. It also doesn't give you a hangover. In anycase its a quite beautiful and unique drug - really does have a charactor all to its self.

Same, I bought a bottle in about 1993ish, from a sexshop, it was legal, so we thought safe...me and the then girlfriend had been drinking all day, checked the dosage chart on the bottle (was mls/bodyweight chart), doubled it, started getting into it, started feeling woozy, both woke up feeling rough as fuck about 12 hours later.....

LSD can certainly open some doors in the brain... Unfortunately doors are better left unopened... Most of them at least... I had major anxiety and panic episodes up to a year after heavy LSD use... Like a few tabs every other day for 3 months.... I became very functional on the drug after a while.... I was working several jobs and staying up most nights... But I got really burned out from the whole scene and have never gone back...

Crackhead, GBL isn't a solvent like glue, which starves the brain of oxygen. It's more like an alcohol. I find the effects compared to booze quite different. Lower doses give me loads of energy, and make me really euphoric and happy - high doses make me feel great, then dizzy, then I wake up two hours later. God, I how I don't miss living a chunk of my life in that very cycle.

GHB was brilliant. You've missed out. The problem lays in the fact that euphoric dose is sooooooooooooooooooooo close to pass out dose. But there's nothing dangerous or unpleasant (apart from for the uninitiated around you) about passing out on ghb. It goes with the territory. Occupational hazard.

And that euphoric dose....is soooooooooooooo euphoric it's worth chasing.

Never done gbl. Convert that fucker.

I am one of the few people I know who don't compare it to/use it as a substitute for alcohol.

GBL = interesting the 1st few times, but soon gets boring. Nowhere near as pervy as meph, though at least it allows you a good boner.

 

It gets boring after days/weeks of dosing 24/7, but the start of a new bottle was always excellent. It is extremely euphoric. Throw MDMA into the mix, and you've got a pretty enjoyable experience ahead.

 

Yeah i'm totally with SHM in terms of how highly i right GHB. As for those who say it gets boring if you take it everyday - can you name any drug that doesn't?

I need to work out the dosing..(we'll obviously be combining with meph), but if Mrs MM passes out first test, or gets nowt out of it...which seems to be the two paths for under or overdosing...she won't persevere...if a drug doesn't grab her first time, she'll write it off...

 

Ok i know exactly how i'd advise to start off with GBL in terms of dosage, and i know the variation and in terms of conversion rate and onset time between GBL and GHB, but i've done GHB so rarely i'd much rather leave to someone else to advise on that MM.

That would be me, then? My statement was in response to someone who said it got boring after the first few times. I was trying to say it wasn't. I'll get back to you on drugs that don't get boring.

MM: Please, be so careful. I know you're not stupid, but it's insidious. I can give you any help with doses, converting, side effects, withdrawals - also, read the megathread, which is full of decent advice. If you moderate your use, you'll love it. Sorry for the slightly concerned rant, I just know what can happen. It's too damn seductive.

 

I never found it euphoric at all, just a very mild relaxant. If I tried taking a bigger dose I was just vomiting like a sick dog.
