Psychadelics curing Long Term Comedown from Ecstasy?

Hello bluelight,

I am on month 7 of a terrible long term comedown from ecstasy and cocaine. I parachuted .4g of untested mdma, and did 4-5lines of cocaine within an hour or so. I am almost positive i suffered serotonin syndrome about 7 months ago. I experience decreased cognitive abilities, foggy vision, anxiety, etc...The foggy vision and cloudy brain are what are really effecting me. Along with what i believe to be decreased cognitive abilities.

Does anyone know of someone who took shrooms or LSD and were cured after? or felt better after? I am wondering if a psychadelic could change someone's outlook on everything and possibly help someone snap out of a Long Term Comedown from ecstasy. Does anyone know anything about this?

Thanks

Welcome!
as you are going through some important issues, I'd first go see a doctor, maybe a psychiatrist before taking any other substances.

I believe that LSD will not make these feelings any better, specially in your current state of mind. But that's only me.

A particular saying about which suits is that any drugs you take when you are not well will do nothing but potentialize your problems, something like this..

Good luck

I've already seen a few doctors, and they don't really have much to say. But thanks for the response.

I know, I feel they don't want to be involved. Search for a specialist or psychiatrist, it can work. Don't give up.

Shrooms did that for me... I was struggling with a bout a month of LTC due to taking MDMA multiple times a week in a 3 week span. On a really nice sunny summer day I made shroom tea with lemon juice (Lemon tek) out of 3g of amazonian cubensis. Went out for a hike and experienced some really inspiring visions, after coming down from the shrooms I felt fresh and renewed. The foggy mind, anxiety and mild depression gradually faded after that trip.

Maybe you are not experiencing a long-term comedown but something else?
The decreased cognition, brain fog, and anxiety can all be symptoms of severe depression, when i was depressed at 16 my IQ was tested at 113, then again when i was medicated 2 years later at 132... my psychologist said it is common for mental illness to affect cognition negatively and it is important to stay medicated. She also showed me evidence that IQ generally does not increase after age 16, as the Prefrontal cortex is fully developed by 16, it is only other non-cognitive parts of the brain such as impulse control that are not developed until age 20+.
So i guess i'm an example of how Antipsychotics can make one smarter actually, breaking a common stereotype

LSD is probably one of the most unbalancing psychedelics. I reckon you'd be taking a gamble to try and sort this out by tripping, but I've done similar things and mushrooms definitely are a big help in the 'balancing' aspect of things, definitely make me feel very renewed afterwards. Not that LSD can't do this, but a bad trip on LSD can very easily mean throwing yourself off in the head for a while after, where even the worst mushrooms trip I've ever had (my worst trip generally) made me feel amazing after.

my 7 gram mushroom trip ended with me crying for 2 hours straight upon sobering up, super depressed.
wish i had had some weed to smoke after it.

How severe was your LTC? I am on month 7 and my symptoms were absolutely awful for the first 4-5 months. They are still pretty bad, but the foggy mind, cloudy vision, feelings of being uncomfortable all the time, are still there. I am thinking of taking shrooms in amsterdam with the hopes that I finally snap out of this fogginess I am caught in. What do you think?

Do you know if ecstasy or cocaine can lower your IQ? I am really scared that I just fried a part of my brain and I will never be as smart as I once was.

MDMA can cause brain lesions but I don't know what parts of the brain those are in, or whether they would affect IQ or emotions. Altho it's well established already that MDMA can cause depression if abused too much.
EVEN if you did damage your brain, you'd be surprised how malleable your brain is, with a period of sobriety and being put to use, your brain will most likely recover...

I don't think anyone can prove that MDMA can cause brain lesions, it can be neurotoxic (it can make me feel retarded for a week after so I believe this), but supplements such as those on rollsafe.org can help a LOT (I recently tried their full range during a roll and didn't feel any cognitive impairment afterward at all), the mood issue is still there but mybe 5-htp and ECGC (helps absorption) might aid the mood, I need to restock on those then I'll report back after my next roll. I'm certainly one for recommending supplementation (and a 1-3 month break ;) )

I never met anybody with a 'LTC', not even when most of my friends were eating high strength pills like sweets in the 1990s, but most people who I met that take MDMA took other drugs too, including psychedelics & weed, so there could be something in it.

click on the link to the journal, the cntl-F search "lesions"
that will direct you right to the section on neurotoxicity and lesions

I forgot to mention that this is a long term comedown from ecstasy and cocaine. It was about .4 g of ecstasy and 4-5 lines within an hour.

I did that, it says

These results appear to indicate that the hyperthermia induced by 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine is not sufficient to produce lasting neurotoxic effects on the serotonergic system,

it also says it was given to rats at 20mg/kg, so that's like a lightweight human taking a gram, injected.

"support an important role for dopamine in the mechanism of neurotoxicity of 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine, suggesting that an already developed dopaminergic system is necessary for the expression of the serotonergic deficits"
you purposely left out the other part of the sentence lol
