Misc Prozac (Fluoxetine) ?

Prozac's one of the better SSRIs I've tried. I took it to help out with venlafaxine withdrawal (which is fucking terrible, avoid at all costs!) and there weren't really any side effects and my mood was pretty stable. I ended up getting off of it and, due to the ridiculously long halflife of fluoxetine, had no withdrawals whatsoever.

That all being said, I'm still convinced that bupropion and modafinil are the best antidepressants commonly available. Since I started on bupropion I've had literally no suicidal ideation and my anhedonia (which was horrible) is gone too. Modafinil also helped with my mood a lot, since taking it I have a lot more energy and drive to get things done and I'm a lot happier. Hope this helps somehow!

i have been on prozac for about 2 years now, i am 17 female, recovering anorexic, i took mdma with hallucinogenics and smoked weed last night, the effect didnt hit strongly and took awhile to create affect, when pinging felt great but chilled out, saw weird things and felt out of body at times, i have noticed with other drugs i have taken, prozac makes the effect less strong but is still enjoyable

The only problem I experienced with Prozac was a syndrome known as "Prozac poop-out," in which it works fine for (my doctors said) a widely varying period of time, and then, pffffft. I had more than two good years on Prozac before being switched to another SSRI.

In my case, my ongoing lifelong depression was considered to be postpartum-triggered when I went on Prozac; it was good--while it was good--because it was considered safe to use while breast feeding. And evidently it was, as my kid who ingested all that SSRI-laced breastmilk is now a university student taller than his older brothers. (Breakfast of champions?!?)
