can anyone provide some insight on this? i heard of people actually cycling this stuff, as in 4 weeks on 4 weeks off, without any withdrawal symptoms. i also heard it doesnt even compare to adderall or ritalin or any of those types of drugs. thoughts?

It's a good wakefulness promoter, keeps you awake, but don't expect it to be a replacement for amphetamine

As for withdrawal symptoms I don't think they are worth worrying about unless you are taking crazy dosages

but what benefits can i actually feel from it in comparison to amphetamines. on ritalin or adderall i'll finally do all the things i've been pushing off, finish projects, start new projects, etc etc etc you know what i mean. i get this clear vision of how i want things and a clear thought process

will i get similar effects with modafinil ?

It won't get you high but it will make short work of fatigue in most cases without making you all tweaked out. Though if you are like me and are prone to fucking off sober, you'll be prone to fuck off on this - but without the compulsive masturbation of amphetamines.
With adrafinil (which I have much more experience with) there is no point to taking a higher than therapeutic dose, no extra stimulation but an increased risk of getting a headache.
Only had a couple tabs of modafinil: Seemed to work faster and more completely.
It's a nice tool for when you are sleep deprived.

Curious myself. Some reports I've read people have either had a great experience to null.

I love my addy but it would be nice to have another option that I could maybe stack with a low dose benzo and possibly have somewhat of the same effects I get from addy.

lol what do you mean by "fuck off"?

i love adderall too. i would take it every day if it wouldn't fuck with my dick so much. even if im not necessarily sexually active at that moment i still like knowing my dick works. 3 things could happen when im on addy, either i get it up and cant bust (which isnt that bad but its a bit annoying), or i get it up and go limp mid sex, or i just cant get it up at all. its really a gamble.

I take modafinil five days a week on prescription for fibromyalgia fatigue. There's no withdrawal to speak of, but on my first "day off" for the week I do tend to sleep all day. I've never been sure if that's because of the modafinil or if it's just rebound fatigue from pushing myself too much during the week.

It does help a bit with concentration, but much, much less than when I first started taking it. I think these effects wear off pretty quickly. The only real effect is wakefulness, which in my case means less fatigue. It doesn't make you feel speedy or impact your mood.

I mean it can help focus a bit, but for me I'm terrible outside of a structured environment, so if I take it around the house I'm more likely to be posting over here, or reading, or playing guitar, or video games, maybe take a nature walk.....basically anything other than get my house in order and work on a better future.
This wont affect your dick, so that's a plus
Addy always makes me horny as hell for hours on end, it's the one area where it improves my focus.... Though I can eat pussy for days and I'm a retarded ejaculator anyway I'
m with you it can take HOURS to cum on addy. Also if my wife isn't horny the number of porn tabs on my browser can become more obscene than the porn.

so what the hell does it actually do? i read about guys taking it saying it was a lifesaver for them in college, or having effects of feeling sharper minded or expanding their creativity. is this bullshit?

do you mean pharmacologically or in terms of effects? in terms of apparent effects modafinil and its analogues are quite subtle and more often used for the wakefulness/motivation/concentration that they provide. you won't necessarily feel different, but one might be able to observe or reflect that their mind is working more lucidly than normal, or that perhaps given their circumstances they wouldn't have been as productive as they had been once they'd taken modafinil.
I use it on days when I'm preparing for opiate withdrawal; I'll pop

It wakes you up. That's what it's supposed to do and it achieves it pretty effectively. It's not supposed to get you high or make you more creative.

It definitely makes me feel more sharp-minded, but I experience debilitating fatigue, so my mind is pretty foggy a lot of the time. I couldn't tell you if it makes people without fibro feel more sharp minded.

so its kind of like amphetamines minutes the speedy effect ?

It doesn't (at least at normal doses) get you high like most people get from Adderall, but has similar effects in terms of concentration and wakefulness. Bear in mind that it does build tolerance to those effects in a way quite similar to Adderall, and you may end up having to raise your dose. The main advantage is that it doesn't produce the unpleasant side-effects that AMP/MPH frequently do, like anxiety, paranoia, tachycardia, and sexual dysfunction, which can in some people completely drown out the benefits of the drug, and so is definitely worth a go for people who can't tolerate amphetamines or phenidates. For example, if you have both ADHD and bipolar or a cluster 2 personality disorder, it's likely to work much better for you than amphetamines or Ritalin.
