Pros and Cons of Adderall compare to other Amphetamines?

Pro: It's easy to get and it works for what its designed for.
Con: It has levoamphetamine in it, which is pointless. Go for Dexedrine (straight dextroamphetamine).
Con(s): What Pjkt2501 said about cons. Amphetamines are a hard drug, no way around it. Exercise caution.

The positive side of Adderall having a racemic mixture of salts is that in its daily prescribed use a person will experience a softer come down.
Speaking from what a doctor told me, Dexedrine(dextroamphetamine) is far too "up and down". Whether I completely agree with this is really dependent on the individual. I have always had bad comedowns on individual stimulants. I have yet to try dexedrine.
Obviously methamphetamine(desoxyn) will be the best temporarily, but the extreme addiction potential and neurotoxicity are not worth even trying it once.
In conclusion I recommend sticking with pharmaceutical amphetamines. Vyvanse is my personal favorite.

My experiences have been the exact opposite of yours. Adderall is much harsher when it comes to comedowns than Dexedrine is. Everybody's different, though.
Vyvanse is just a pro-drug for Dexedrine. If you like Vyvanse, you'll like Dexedrine (or at least Dexedrine XR)

Levoamphetamine bad? Or it is just more or less lame filler.
I can't afford Vyvanse, Concerta, Dexedrine, etc as I don't have insurance. I have choice of either Adderall or Ritalin, right now.
BTW how different is Methylphenidate/Concerta to other Amphetamines?

Interesting...I thought generic Dexedrine/generic Dextrostat (Dexedrine IR) was just as cheap, if not cheaper than, generic Adderall.
Methylphenidate/Concerta/Ritalin is different from regular amphetamines in its mechanism of action. Amphetamines are dopamine and nor-epinephrine releasers, and methylphenidate is a dopamine and nor-epinephrine reuptake inhibitor.

Actually I haven't priced Dexedrine... so probably you are right.

What would I feel different with Dexedrine than Adderall, taking them orally for my ADD? So far Adderall has been very none-event smooth, should I say? Not as potent initially and comedown seems not all that noticeably bad... overall not as strong as Ritalin it seems but levels out nicely for the duration which I like.
Ritalin gives me stronger initial kick in about an hour but then, I can't quite get up to that level back again when I take the same doses later on in the day. A bit too up and down... then down and down for me.

Routes of administration are something I like to take in mind. I do plan to ask my doctor for dexedrine in order to try it. I enjoyed Adderall IR.
The way vyvanse is metabolized by me is very smooth. The come down is noticeable, however after it is over I am left with a "concentration afterglow" for several hours.
