Anyone else ever have these? Just had one last night. It's really weird when you dream something that you couldn't really have any idea about and it happens the next day. I just wish I could actually act on it but so far I haven't mastered that ability.

Dreams have always intrigued me.

When I was younger, I used to have more "prophetic" dreams if you will, however, now it seems like it does not happen so much. However, in my day-to-day life I am VERY intuitive. If I "feel" like something is going to happen, it usually does.

For example, I'll be speeding and think "hmm ad lib, you better slow down, there's probably a cop lurking under the overpass"- and sure enough, there is. Kind of freaks me out sometimes.

I've had dreams where something has happened or a passage of conversation has occurred and then it happens in reality and I get so confused/ deja vu - but I think it's mostly just chance.

^ Chance indeed.

But also your brain is good at playing tricks on you.. your dream might not have happened the way you remembered it..

Did you wake up, remember the dream detail for it to happen? Or did it happen before you remembered it?

No one can tell you if your dream was real or not, only you can figure that out.

I would write down your dreams upon waking, even if it's just point form notes. If your dreams are prophetic then it will be confirmed shortly.

As for acting on it, that's tricky. Sometimes it's hard to act on a vision that lacks context. You see the content but you don't know what it means until you live it. Perhaps a prophetic dream is simply there to let you know that the events are meant to happen and you're on the right track?

This is in the wrong thread, damn rum to early in the day. If I had a daughter and a adult approached her in any situation that wasn't to assist her in an appropriate circumstance I would assume that the individual was a suspect person of habit and would return to the area that these children frequent. I would take the time to recon the area with a description from my girl. And if showing him again to my daughter and getting confirmation I would observe his actions. I always had free time as a independent contractor and I would prepare my plan well. If it occurred I would film, follow him to where he resides and report to the police. It would be not only for what is mine but to make sure no one else is subject to this possible threat.

Wow, any way you can start dreaming about lottery numbers for your pal Corazon? : )

I have dreams that are symbolic. Stuff that's on my mind or worrisome. I have nightmares sometimes, but other times they are just regular stuff happening, but the characters and setting are symbolic.

Who fly's in their dreams.

I have a few times, I kept drifting in and out of sleep and there was someone climbing through my window and for ONCE I knew it was a dream and I knew that I could do that, but then I flew threw the back wall in my bedroom? Then woke up. But was it all just a dream anyway and I never actually woke up? Life n stuff

Anyone here ever have sleep paralysis? That's some freaky shit. Only had it a few times, mostly when I was on remeron.

I get it really bad at least a couple of times a week - it used to be worse when I was 'more scared' of it because then I wouldn't want to go back to sleep and sleep deprivation can cause it. Often I don't get it during my normal period of sleep though. It's usually worse when I 'nap', I find myself on my bed somehow already in some sleepy state and there's nothing I can do to stop myself falling asleep. And for like 30 minutes I'll just be in and and out of sleep getting it over and over again but not able to wake up properly. It should be introduced as a form of torture, maybe

Interesting yet not surprising. Much like guessing a number from 1 to 100,000 you're bound to get one right; in other words, out of the millions of dreams you've had there's a statistically high chance that some will turn into a reality.

Now if you could combine prophetic dreams with the practice of lucid dreaming, you'd probably be checking tomorrow's newspaper for the winning lottery numbers :D

Or I could predict acts of war. Although I'm not sure I'm up for that kind of responsibility yet.

Oh but you can already do that. There is a simple method that can be followed:

1. Sit naturally on a floor or mat.
2. Close your eyes and relax your body.
3. Breath in through your nose, exhale through your mouth.
4. Clear your mind of all extraneous thought.
5. Finally ask yourself, 'do they have something that America wants?'.
6. If the answer is yes then we shall have war.

:D

This should probably be in the P & S forum but since my prophetic dreams are always tragic I guess this is fitting. They just come out of nowhere and I don't need to write them down because they are quite vivid. The sort of dreams that seem to go on for hours. So it happened first time when I moved in with my fiancé more than 25 years ago.

I was dreaming that he was killed in a car wreck and it shook me up so bad I woke up crying. It didn't actually happen until a year later, the cops came knocking on my door with his driver's license asking me did he live here. Then told me he had rolled his car and had died. It doesn't happen too often but when it does, it's never good.

There's been people I dreamt about that I wasn't even close with. Like the college bookstore manager where I worked. I had a dream he was killed but I didn't know how. Some months later, a bunch of kids were waiting outside to get in but the doors were locked. So when the police came they found he was robbed opening the safe. One of the temp workers shot him in the head. Poor guy, that was horrible.

Another time I dreamed about this little boy who was is my son's daycare group. I didn't see it happen but was walking on a sidewalk. saw the boy and turned around when I heard screeching brakes. The next day when I went to pick Timmy up, the teacher told me Joseph had got hit by a car. But it was good he was only out for a week with minor injuries.

Shit man, it does a number on my head. I tried to tell my mother about it, and she just got silent and didn't want to hear about it. I believe this comes from my dad's grandmother who could tell when bad stuff was going to happen. I get a bad feeling, especially with my son when he wanted to go out someplace. I told him no don't because I got a real bad vibe.

He never listens though and it happened twice. Last year, some guys jumped him, stole his weed and phone. Just two nights ago, he got beat up pretty bad and robbed. It has everything to do with his choice of lifestyle for sure. I mean, you don't need to be psychic to know this. I've had stuff like this happen to me since I was a little kid and couldn't talk about it with anyone. I mean, knowing things that can't be known under the normal run of things. So don't ignore that feeling of impending doom because you could be right, not crazy!
