Prolonged headache from weed ?

Hello,
This is very weird. I have been smoking pot on and off for the last 3 or 4 years. Sometimes I stop for 5-6 months, and then I start again. Last few months I've been generally smoking every day after work and I usually spend the whole weekends stoned. I am stoned even as I write this.
My problem is that as of that last batch, I've been getting nasty pulsatile-like headaches in the left back part of my head.
Stays for days, I can feel it in the morning even when I'm not yet high, but getting high sometimes exaggerates the symptoms.
It's not severe but it's pretty damn annoying. Any ideas ?

I just found out it gets worse with weed, so probably has something to do with it.

I'm thinking when it happened to me my blood pressure was high. Maybe this batch is funky like dopemegently suggested though. Are you prone to cluster headaches at all?

Erm, AFAK Cluster Headaches are an entirely different animal and of far greater severity. I don't usually have headaches period. I usually have a normal headache twice or thrice per year like regular people, maybe even less.
I've never head headaches from weed before. I have very low BP in general, and should go even lower with weed. It is possible that the batch is funky, I did buy from another guy this time.

P.S.
Headache doesn't go away from Benalgin (Analgin + Thiamine + Caffeine), but goes away completely after 200mg of Aspirine. Tried each separately in different days.

See a doctor. If it concerns you, don't mention the weed. I think full disclosure would be in your best interest but, as these headaches are effecting you sober as well as whilst high, I think you could forgo mentioning your likely illicit drug use to your physician.

Honestly, my first thought was migraines... I've never experienced cluster headaches before and, from what I've read, those seem to be much more painful than migraines. I can't say for sure, though.... I'm no Carson Beckett over here.

Seriously, though, if you can afford it you should see a doctor and get a professional medical opinion. It's possible that you've got "bad" weed (especially outside of North America) but I'd like to think that an experienced smoker such as yourself would've been able to immediately discern whether or not there was something wrong with what you see/smell/taste/feel either immediately after picking the herb up or immediately after sparking. My money's on a medical issue.

Have you smoked any herbal blends containing synthetic cannabinoids in recent memory?

I think when it comes to weed you should be absolutely open about it with a doc. Some doctors might stigmatize you, but those are less and less as marijuana gets more and more popular. You never know, but a doctor might have heard of this before.

I think you would know if you had cluster headaches because they're apparently the painful thing that can possibly happen to you.

From this source (http://www.adelaide.edu.au/painresearch/headache/headache_cluster/):
Cluster headache is a relatively rare condition of extremely severe headache, affecting less than 1% of the population. The typical symptoms are so unusual that it cannot be confused with anything else... The pain is non-pulsatile, unlike migraine, and excruciatingly severe. I have known patients to try and knock themselves out to end the suffering of an attack.

I don't know, I feel like the second a doctor hears any mention of marijuana use all of a sudden the patient is exhibiting drug-seeking behavior and the medical professionals become hostile and confrontational. The only doctor I've told about my weed use was the same one that prescribed me bars of Xanax when I was 16 years old... so that experience has kind of created a bias against medical professionals in my mind. It's like I told him about my herbal habit and his first thought was "Hey, this kid probably just wants some pills. He's paying me so I might as well oblige."

I do, however, feel like it's an unrealistic bias so I try to give people what I feel is the "best" advice in this kind of situation, not the advice I would be most likely to follow myself.

I feel ya Jibult. I don't know where you live but where I'm at more people my age smoke than don't. So docs seem to be cool, they know it really doesn't fuck with your life, unless you tell them about anxiety or any odd behavior and then say you smoke weed, which is probably something you should do if you have those symptoms. Young docs especially don't care.

I had a great experience with my family physician of 18 years. He is a pretty tame guy, very socially conservative. I told him a few years back that weed really works for my debilitating pain issues, and he was like "oh, cool, really? Tell me all about it." He now mentions weed as a treatment option to his patients. When I go to cannabis clubs it seems I'm the only person with a doctors recommendation from a non-weed doc. Just a kinda funny anecdote.

I def cannot talk to my doc about X or LSD and def not 'harder' drugs like coke, etc. It can ruin a relationship with a trusted physician as fast as you can imagine, because even though doctors are highly educated they seem to skip over the lessons about searching for unbiased studies on drug symptoms, harm reduction, and gentle sympathy for a drug user. It takes being pushed into the direction of treatment, not being alienated and berated by some angry doctor. It's really said that people have to censor their drug use when talking to a doc even though docs should be a person you specifically can talk to about drugs.

I guess it's definitely a "Your Mileage May Vary" kind of situation. Still, though, I'm under the impression, like you, that full disclosure with a person's primary physician is the best course of action here.

Anything, if not everything, BLers post here is pure conjecture and I don't like playing games with a person's health and well-being. 8(

It's entirely possible the weed you're getting has been chemically treated and your body objects. Pesticides are not human friendly.
