Hi,

A friend gave me some of these legal high pills which contain Prolintane, which I took an hour ago. I also use Heroin and am planning on doing some tonight. Could someone with experience please tell me if this puts me at risk of Serotonin Syndrome?

Thank you

No one can tell for sure. However, since Prolintane is one of the few currently available semi-legals that actually has been tested for safety, chances are you're safer with it than you'd be with most others. I would treat it exactly as I would treat MDPV (which seems to be ok with opiates), if this is of any help.

The biggest problem is that you do not know for sure that your pills contain nothing but prolintane, or if it is even prolintane in the first place...

Thanks for the reply. The dose I took of the Prolintane was very low, my mate fucked up the dose so I only took half of what I was supposed to. That was two hours ago and I barely felt high at all, half an hour ago I smoked some H and feel typical opiate buzz.

I read that:
"Prolintane is a stimulant closely related in structure to other drugs such as pyrovalerone and presumably has a similar mechanism of action, by inhibiting the reuptake of dopamine"

Am I right in thinking that since Prolintane acts on dopamine and not serotonin, I don't need to worry about S.S? Can an opiate even cause SS when combined with an SSRI? Or does it need to be two serotengic drugs?

some opiates can when combined with SSRIs, but not very many. tramadol, methadone, a few oddballs. most have it listed as a potential side effect, but it doesn't seem to happen.

wtf wikipedia, comparing prolintane and caffeine's structure???

weird..

I was thinking the same thing, but it could be that the author was trying to express that those "green granules" (or whatever the fuck those euro kids are gobbling these days =D) contain prolintate as well as caffeine...
