trump said he'd build a wall and mexico would pay for it. that was untrue.
he said he'd repeal obamacare and replace it with something much better. that was untrue.
he said, in 2020, that the coronavirus was "totally under control" and was "disappearing". that was untrue.
he said in 2019, contradicting the federal weather office, that alabama was at a greater risk from hurricane dorian than had been initially forecast (and tried to support his claim by extending the forecast path of the hurricane on a map with a black sharpie. that was untrue.
he said that he knew nothing about the hush money payment to stormy daniels. that was untrue.
he said in 2019 that the "noise from windmills" causes cancer. that was untrue.
he said in 2016 that he was once named michigan's "man of the year". that was untrue.
he still claims he won the 2020 election. that's untrue.
and thousands of other things that are untrue.
he says he has "no idea who is behind" project 2025. that is blatantly untrue.
the group behind project 2025 is the heritage foundation. trump knows who the heritage foundation are. he's relied on them for advice in the past. he spoke at a heritage project event in april 2022:
"for nearly 50 years this legendary institution which is what it is has been at the forefront of the conservative movement helping lead the fight to defend our cherished american history, culture and traditions.
...
our country is going to hell. the critical job of institutions such as heritage is to lay the groundwork and heritage does such an incredible job at that...
...
encourage new thinking, embrace new directions and keep heritage at the vanguard of the conservative movement. i think tremendous things are going to be coming out of heritage."
wow. that's high praise for an organization he claims to know nothing about. at an event hosted by an organization he claims to know nothing about.
in a speech in october 2019, trump's vice-president mike pence said:
"heritage foundation has been fighting side by side with this president and this administration since day one and we have a stronger america as a result. from right in the transition we went to work availing ourselves of the resources available from the heritage foundation. we laid out plans for this administration. we drew on the scholarship and resources of this historic think tank."
trump has praised the heritage foundation's president - kevin roberts - on a number of occasions, including on the same stage as roberts at an nrb event in nashville in february.
at that same event kevin roberts said: "our project 2025 has developed a comprehensive policy agenda but even more importantly including recruiting people, 20,000 people to go into the next administration hopefully to help take back this country...
...
we want no credit. we want the american people if president trump is elected again president trump and his administration to take credit for that"
paul dans, the director of project 2025 stated (at the same event) that he was going to have to give 10 months notice at the heritage foundation so he could go back to work for his old boss, donald trump.
john mcentee, a senior advisor on project 2025 stated, on media matters in april, "i work for the heritage foundation on their project 2025 which is in charge of staffing the next administration should trump win"
i guess somebody needs to tell those guys trump has no idea who they are and that they have nothing to do with the next administration should he win.
and now that project 2025 has been thoroughly outed, trump categorically denies having anything to do with project 2025? why the fuck would anybody in their right mind believe him?
you're a smart guy c_k - and i have a ton of respect for you - but if you believe trump when he denies project 2025's involvement in his plans, you are simply in denial.
