Problems after dxm + adderall trip

Swim has been doing dxm for 4 years, on and off. Always have been ok after, made sure to eat before bed to keep calories up and everything. Swim went to a concert on Wednesday night and took 400mg of dxm (average dose) and then 2 hours later took a 20 mg adderall, then 20 more minutes took another adderall and then one hour later took one more for a total of 60 mg of adderall + 400 mg of dxm in one night. It was very hot, but he thought he drank plenty of water throughout the night. Swim of course couldn't sleep that night at all, but when morning came he found that he felt very off. Today is Sunday and he hasn't improved. Still has had insomnia, but he also feels very out of it, vision is still not 100% correct and when he gets around a lot of noise he feels light headed. Overall it is kind of like the spacey feeling you get when you have fever.

He is worries because of no improvment in 4 days. Did he just over do it and just needs to wait for it to clear out? Has anyone else had these problems?

The only way to get better is to stop using all substances including marijuana and beer for at least three months. Your head needs to clear. That's honestly the only advice anyone can give to someone who is starting to get seriously burned out. I thought I broke my brain too at one point but it got better, but only by abstaining from all drugs did I make any progress. You should probably see a doctor too just to make sure your vitals and whatnot are okay. A psychiatrist probably would not know what to make of it, but I can't say that for sure.

I'm not saying you have to never smoke a joint or have a beer again but seriously the only way to recover from drug-induced craziness is to stop using all drugs for a good long while, and take it easy if you decide to test those waters again.

You did something really reckless. I'm not trying to freak you out but that was objectively a bone-headed thing to do, you should have done more research. Take it as a lesson. If you surf around here there are lots of people who have thought they were brain-damaged from drugs, DXM in particular seems to cause "brain damamage" more than other drugs. But it'll get better with time.
