OCEAN CITY, Md. — The young beauty queen who resigned as Miss Delaware Teen USA after an online porn video surfaced was sentenced to a year of probation Monday for underage alcohol possession in Maryland.

Melissa King, 19, appeared in Worcester County District Court in Ocean City on citations for the alcohol violation and a separate theft charge. King was cited in August after police found a bottle of rum in her father’s truck. She was driving home from work. Two months earlier, King was cited on a charge of stealing money from a city bus fare box, but prosecutors dropped that charge Monday because of doubts about their case.

King resigned her pageant title in February after the online sex video surfaced, but later denied her involvement.

King smiled and greeted reporters Monday as she entered the courthouse, accompanied by lawyer Greg Hannigan and a friend, saying she was doing “great.” King declined to discuss the sex video and Hannigan said she would not answer any “rude or invasive questions.”

After the brief hearing, Hannigan said the theft charge involved two $1 bus fares, for King and a friend, and the charge should have never been brought. King put the money in the fare box and then took it out after deciding not to ride the bus, he said.

King received one year of unsupervised probation on the alcohol citation and her friend, Dave Stout, paid about $140 to cover a fine and court costs.

Jesus, wait... you can get an "alcohol violation" for having alcohol if you are underage? First I have ever heard of that, here they just take it off you and see you on your way if your underage, though if its borderline and they cant prove it they cant do much.

A quick google search indicates that she was over 18 at the time she filmed that video. This article says she is 19, I am confused why people are claiming she was 15 or that it is child porn?
 
I completely misread the story and somehow forgot that the drinking age is 21, not 16. Sorry.

I wonder if saying she was 15 caused more people to look up the video.

Also that alcohol charge is riddiculous, here they would only throw away the alcohol if you were drinking it in public. Or if you're under 18.
 
when i was a teenager over here iv had drink poured out in front of me then told to fuck off home. the odd time they let you keep if you left the area you were drinking in.
