Layden,33, was charged with two counts of delivery of less than 1 gram of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a church and one count of possession with intent to deliver 1 to 15 grams of cocaine near a church.

Dealing within a certain amount of feet from a church is a crime? What the fuck.

God, that's just horrible. My uncle is a Catholic priest, so I know intimately how priests live and how they are human like everyone else. (It sucked when he told my mom he could smell marijuana smoke on my clothes once) But to sell out of the rectory of a church...how can you put yourself in such denial?
who the hell cares where a dealer sells drugs?

he will sell them wherever / whenever is convenient for him and the buyer, just like someone selling somethning legal

so this is all about nothing, when you get down to it...

making it 'more illegal' to sell at certain places is indeed just crazy results from drug-warrior "thinking": thinking in such irrational ways produces all these crazy concepts like having certain crimes even more illegal at certain places and all the other idiodic things done in the name of the war on drugs

yes, some religious officials disagree with certain religious interpretations that people in said religion normally have. just like i may "disagree" with my university's drug and alcohol policy, that doesn't mean i disrespect my university. so this priest may be a power hungry guy getting money from dealing and getting power from being an official, but he also may just be a normal priest... theres just no way for us to know

That's right, and it's almost as harsh as selling altar boys within 1,000 feet of a bar...
