If one were to make up a bunch of shots of something that requires filtering, and one does not have bacteriostatic water, couldn't one just use sterile distilled water to mix up his stuff, then suck that up into sets of works, and then pressure sterilize the loaded works at 20-25psi for like 15 min? Assuming those were kept in a sterile environment until use, they should be safe from bacteria growing within them, yes?

Does anyone see anything wrong with that hypothesis as to why it wouldn't work? FYI the DIQ is subutex...

Thanks a lot!

Just buy new ones. Please, if you IV, new needle every time.

I didn't quite understand your post when I had just woke up this morning, sorry for the above response.

To the original question,
Pressure sterilization would only kill any living creature in there. If there were anything solid and dangerous in there or something that could handle the heat, then bad news. This really sounds like a bad idea man, The good that could come out of this is a buzz for a little while, the bad could be death. Why not plug whatever it is? If you are desperate enough to autoclave a loaded rig to sterilize it, you shouldn't have a problem breaking the needle off and plugging it?

I also wouldn't recommed it, incase you do get something in the solution. Just use new everytime you do it, atleast you know your gonna be alot safer doing it. Or like above, just plug it and try to stay away from the needle.

Why can't you get bacteriostatic water? Depending on where you live, either needle exchanges or the pharmacy should have it or be able to order it. If not, it is very cheap via the internet. You can also get micron filters and sterile vials. That way, you can make a sterile injectable solution close to the quality a hospital would use.

You can make your own bacteriostatic water by buying benzyl alcohol, and add 0.9% of it to sterile water.

This way you won't have to buy bacteriostatic water by itself.

Without a preservative in the solution, this is not going to work. I have already PM'd you so I'll go ahead and close this for now, feel free to PM me if you have any other questions.
