Hello I'm here because I have anxiety that seems to be worsened by ssri and snri. Benzodiazepine is the only thing that helps but no one will diagnose them. Even kava barely touches any of it. It completely has ruined my life and males me so sick I am in the er regularly due to vomiting from gastroenterologist diagnosed "chronic inflammation of the stomach with no known cause" therapy makes me more anxious. Please please help me. My psychs nurse has suggested ect but I am losing my memory already and have jaw pain nausea and confusion at age 28 even meditation terrifies me after I induced sleep paralysis and a hellish lucid dream that seemed to be a premonition. I need help. I can't go away. I have to raise children that no one else can

To be clear I am not asking how to get benzos I am asking if anyone has had success with anything else in my situation and what it could be if it was underlying illness. I have herniated c6-c7 chronic nausea and vomiting and tmjd

Hi there and welcome to the site

We have a healthy living section here where you will find people coping with anxiety without medication and we also have a mental health section here which may be useful to you.

I am sorry to hear for these problems, it seems you and i are in the same boat and this boat is going down a very sad river of destruction. Step one, get off the SSRI's because they will cause more problems then help, i know this for fact based on the info that all they do is block the re-uptake inhibitors in the nerves that are in the brain and also in the lower G.I. track (which has more nerves then the brain in fact). You could consider SSRI's as a weak Xtc pill, that almost works but doesn't quite do it. So you have a problem getting the Benzo's you need because you have crazy doctors correct? Well... the reason they wanna give you the SSRI's is because all doctors get a kickback in the form of travel or other free things, in the old days they might get money from the drug companies but now they get free tickets to vacation spots and everything else you can imagine, i know my step father is a doctor, he does oral surgery and tells me each time a new drug comes out they send him paper work asking him to push it on his clients in exchange he will gain said benefits. Now days you cannot trust doctors to do the right thing, they will screw you over for the money, also a good 80% are Jewish doctors, mine are, also let's not forget most are also liberals which is a mind Fu(K in its self. Drug companies don't want you to get better, if you do they loose out on all the profit they could have been getting this goes double for the doctors treating you, and the word "Treating" is too strong of a word since they don't treat you at all, they just band-aid it until you die.

Here is a quote i have learned to live with after doctors killed my mother because they forced her to take this new drug called Xarelto (Rivaroxaban), which is used to thin the blood. However they forced her to take it when she was being discharged from the hospital, they said "We cannot let you leave until you take this drug" which my mother who was very sick from cancer then protested but finally gave in an took it, i wish she had not done so... Maybe now i would get to see her again. That drug causes major problems with the blood because Xarelto Bleedout Can’t Be Reversed like other medications of its class.... And this is what happened to her, she started having a brain bleed and soon died during the night this year on Good Friday. But enough of this talk about my problems, lets see if we can figure out how to help you.

Step one: If you are able to move, as in get around from place to place, i would suggest going to see a psychologist. A psychologist is (in most cases) the only ones that normally give out Benzo's at least where i am from. Heres what i did to get on Xanax and Valium (later i stopped taking the Valium because it was not strong enough). The first time you see a psychologist they most likely won't give you Xanax or very much other then more crazy pills like Ritalin, addy, lyric ect.. Go ahead and take these prescription but don't really take the medication its self.
Step 2: Read up on the medication he gives you, what side effects it may cause and do your homework really well then next time you see him tell him your having one of the side effects but make sure to act like you don't know what is going on and you did take it but you felt weird, then ask him if you can try something else, and remember don't give out any drug names because the trick to this is acting stupid, Doctors don't like it if you know more then they do.

Step 3: Finally if you are able to wait and go the distance he will run out of these crazy drugs and then he will set there confused on what to do, this is where you offer some advice but remember to go light on it and get the name of the medication you want a bit wrong without over correcting it too much, because doctors are now trained to look for this type of drug seeking behavior. What i did was wait until he ran out of crazy drugs to give me so he had almost no choice but to give me something in at least the area of what i wanted, but even then i took those and said they made me feel funny in the head or my feet and hands got swollen up so i don't think its good to take any more. Remember don't wait an entire month to do these kinds of tricks, otherwise they will ask you, if you had a problem why didn't you come in sooner ?

Notes: Now days it seems they do drug test people more then they used too, so ensure this doctor doesn't say anything about that or bring it up, but this does not ensure you will not be drug tested. Sometimes they drug test you to ensure you are taking the drugs they gave you so to ensure you are not selling them or taking to much. If you find your doctor to do this then if possible switch to another without telling him, because trust me it won't do you any good to always be truthful with your doctor if you've done your homework. Doctors love to see people in pain, i know i've been in chronic pain for 11 years and my doctor enjoys forcing me to run out of medication then wait 5 days until the next refill, because ? Because he claims (a few times hes done this), that the CDC / DEA won't allow him to give out a few extra pills. Also note that i don't over do my medication, he just does this sh!t to me, sometimes he request extra time so he has time to write it up without taking into account what harm hes doing to me or anyone else.

One more thing, now i would ensure you are off of all anti-depressants before using this sup. its called 5-HTP it will help build up the serotonin in your body, the SSRI's cannot do this, all they do is keep the same amount in the body they just close the loop for the reuptake pumps so it doesn't go back to where it should, this also can decrease your serotonin, but they won't tell you that.

I think your stomach problems may be because of the SSRI's unless you've had it before you have taken them, since your stomach and G.I. track have more nerves in them then the human brain does, that would be effected.

Anyways i hope this has helped i wish i could do more. God Bless and good luck. If you have any questions message me.

I've been through this same issue, all my drs fed me ssri's over a period of several years and each time I got worse instead of better very fast to which they would all say "it takes two weeks for the medication to take effect" so I'd take it for roughly two weeks by which point I was suicidal and far worse off. I stopped going to get any medication for a few years.

Fast forward to making an appt with what I call my crazy Dr, or psychologist. Anyways I start seeing her and she refers me to a medication provider who is linked with her office.
On my first appt with him I was straightforward and 100% honest with my past and what caused my issues (anxiety, panic disorder, PTSD and major reccurent depression) I list all previously tried meds including Prozac, Zoloft, klonopin And a couple others.
Then proceed to tell him that the only med that I was ever prescribed that didn't negatively affect me was xanax.

He told me that is one thing they consider a red flag, or as possible drug seeking behavior...then continued with 'but, after looking at your chart and listening to your story I believe you, it takes one hell of a person to survive what you have been through" and that's a verbatim quote of what he said and I walked out that day with the correct medication. I get drug tested, I have never asked for a dose increase in two years (I was temporarily increased when we had a cancer scare with my mom recently, I lost my dad to cancer months before graduating hs) and my Dr still has no issue with keeping me on a low dose and antidepressants are now listed in my medical chart as a true allergy for severe suicidal ideation but I had to endure years of that before finding the right Dr to treat me the way I needed to be.

Sometimes honesty is best depending on what your story is and how you've came to this point in your life.
