Opioids Prescription pain pills

Still? Much less than in undergrad. lol. Including me….it just loses its novelty and becomes as boring as accounting eventually. Ppl rarely end up doing exactly what they imaged it would be. The job opportunities and financial incentives don’t quite line up with exactly what interested me in science to begin with. And what has interested me has also changed a lot over the years…so even if I had done exactly what interested me I’d probably by disinterested by now.

During undergrad of course people were enjoying it more. But everything was more enjoyable back then
The whole system is badly broken.

In my experience (living in west coast america my whole life) both washington and california are extremely reluctant to prescribe any opiates or benzos even when its necessary. I have two degenerative discs that are causing severe pain every single day and it would be easy to buy a passport and hire a doctor in another country and pay out of pocket than it would be to get my doctor that has my medical history to listen to my pain specialists recommendation and prescribe me bupes.
Theres an automatic stigma and my doctor claims im “too young to be in that much pain and have that much bone issues” but im also “too young to be an opiate addict” so he refuses to help me manage my pain.

I’ve been using kratom but its expensive and makes me nauseous. Guess id rather be nauseaous than in excruciating pain all day and even in my sleep. Been fighting for pain relief for over five years in two different states and the most theyre willing to prescribe is gabapentin and put me on a bunch of SSRIs (sertraline, welbutrin, cymbalta, etc) and i cant get any pain relief.

Literally almost was 5150d because I’m suicidal due to the amount of pain. Most i could get for that was a toradol and a valium in the er and was sent home.

The medical care system in america is absolute trash and they treat all patients with chronic pain as addicts and drug seekers. Like god forbid im addicted to not being in pain and being a functional human being. Maybe i wouldnt be suicidal and need 4 useless antidepressants if i was being taken seriously and my pain was actually being managed. But no. Apparently thats impossible.

How old are you?

They won’t even script you bupe?

pills ===veryyyy expensive,,,can't find most things even with prescriptin...i guess tey make stuff here ,but it is importer for profitt.fucked.some programs with methadone and substitol exist..bur u paid there even if u gotmed.insurance -wait on the list...nsaid drugs for pain mostly...tram are prescribedwith el.script only....kratom-illegal...not got many options for pain control events...
I suffer seizures and here they don't want me to help me quit 1500mg tram + additional antiseizure meds ( so i will not die but except this seizure risk, Huge tram dose + muscle relaxer / diazepam provide better pain relief than 300mg Oxy ER per day. I want them to switch my tram ir oral 100mg/ml liquid for bupre or at least tapentadol. Dihydrocodeine no longer works for me just like oxycodone. They only keep me out of wd but huge monoaminergic load i am getting from tram still helps with pain ( but can't sleep and tram wd Is hell, benzo WD Is seizure in next few hours....they don't want to understand that they made me superaddicted to pain pills and benzos....Its more than 10 years i take it but not even addictologist wanted to switch me to something SAFER than tramadol which Is probably everything except pethidine or something like that.
