I have been doing research about this subject but the rules are so unclear. My dad takes hydrocodone for his back and we live in Texas. My parents have summer home out of state. I am permitted to sign for his prescriptions at his doctor's office but the issue is getting his medication to him. I have been told that mailing them to him is federal crime and I don't want to break the law. Is this truly the law? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Sorry we do not allow legal questions here at bluelight. Yes mailing someone opiates will get you arrested, and this site is not going to help advise you how to mail drugs to a relative.

This is something your dad is going to have to figure out. Why can't he just get his prescription filled at a pharmacy in another state? People do this all the time even for pain meds.
