Pregnenolone/ Hormone Levels in Adrenal Gland for Anxiety, Depression, Problems

I don't know much about the medical info but I have some experience of adrenal gland issues.

A good few years ago I had a doctor go off the rails and start prescribing me really strong steroid cream for my Psoriasis, it was quite acute at the time and I was ignorant of the extent of the dangers. I never found out what was up with the guy, I know he left the practice but he suddenly stopped the treatment.

Within a couple of days i felt desperately ill, no energy almost to the point of collapse, fortunately due to my symptoms I got to see a seniour dermatologist and she immediately arranged a synacthen test, they gave me the shot and I collapsed and came round with an oxygen mask on, clearly the excessive amount of steroids that had been getting into my system had pretty much shut down my adrenal gland.

Initially I was put on Prednisone and it made me feel really strange, I wasnt myself at all it really felt like it changed my whole personality / persona ...whatever. I got switched to Cortisone tablets which were a bit better but I didn't feel right for months. So the condensed answer is IME these chemicals can have major effects on the way you feel.

I used to take steroids for my psoriasis too, I was 18-20 though at the time and I don't recall it making me feel weird. However I found them to be fairly useless, they'd help, slowly, but then if I stopped for even a day it would rebound even worse and spread. Nowadays I just use a really nice quality intensive healing lotion and it keeps it at bay... doesn't really make it better but it hasn't gotten worse in a long time and it keeps it from flaking pretty well. I barely think about it really, most people don't seem to notice it much and if a woman was turned off by it then she isn't one I want to get involved with anyway.
