alright, so i have a physical coming up this week. The only thing im stressing is the drug test. I know that suboxone does not cause an opiate positive but would i be denied employment BECAUSE i take suboxone? are they allowed to ask why?

Ive been on suboxone for 4 months now with a legit script. Should i have anything to worry about? could they deny me employment because of it? i also take 2mg of xanax and also have a script for that.

Should i even disclose i take it at all because it wont show on a normal 5 panel test? or would it look bad if somehow they do find it and i dont say anything..

I am having urine and blood work done...so i dont know which route they will be checking for the drugs..

I suggest showing them your scripts at the physical unless you absolutely know that it is a 5panel test that does not test for benzos.

If its a test that gets sent to a lab then they can mark down on the sheet that goes to the lab with your piss that you are on those meds.

I am pretty sure that you cannot be denied employment for being on suboxone. Pain management clinics prescribe suboxone and methadone to patients, so it's not just for addicts, meaning that testing positive for them does not meant that you are using it for opiate replacement therapy.

i'm sorry but there are no drug testing related questions such as this allowed in OD.

it's in your best interest to disclose what medications you may be on when taking a physical ime though. but just because you have legitimate scripts doesn't mean it's going to fly where you're applying to work either.

you should be asking the place you're applying for employment these questions, not an internet forum as noone can give an accurate answer. only the employer knows these answers.
