This was a strange one, written to Jimmy Eat World. It came out very easily and kind of...had its way with me. :) I haven't been this pleased with my writing for a long time.
Thanks for reading :)
Practice Counting
Skipping doses twice daily
eroding at irregular rates
fragmenting close to slyly
then inverted to nothing
naming impermanent objects
given to shift and alter
structures spreading to engulf
everything interstitial in a pattern
not crucial but supportive in a critical way
consumed with concern
regarding the lack of attention
focus diffused to include angles
desperate for information
forced to learn to remember
needing averages to design templates
only ever extreme never settling
pushed forward moving
tentative and traumatic
fully aware of accidents
lingering about to happen
tripping caused by the stumble
dropping the curtain
separating now from shame
always about to fall
seeing dread form first-hand
thrilled by despite
fear disproven to curl away
provoked and beautiful
response glimmering to silence
always coerced to consider
all possible unfoldings
gliding outward from each situation
then pleased to cease breathing
detaching instantaneously
experiencing all parallel versions
of precious precise moments
memory consumed when exhaling
taking into account the list
and itemized correspondence.

I didn't know you wrote poetry! I'm pleasantly surprised. :)
I'm tweaking at the moment so your poem was a bit much for me to digest/absorb, and I think I'll have to reread it in the morning in order to appreciate it fully.
In any case, you have a way with words, and what a vocabulary (damn, girl!)! Great flow and rhythm too...

Thanks for reading, fairnymph :)
And personally, I find my poetry difficult to digest in pretty much any state of mind ;)
email me and I'd be glad to drop some more words on you...
...but btw...I'm a boy :)
