I was just wondering if anyone knew how to get rid of powder mold. MY friend put his clones in his hydroponic system and know his plants are getting killed by the powder mold. Any suggestions

P.S we allready tried the bakeing soda idea

I assume that you are refuring to white mold at the base of the stem. I have seen this before when a clone doesn't root and dies. Word is, once it starts growing at the base of the stem it is over for that clone. You have one of two problems here:

1. The mold spores are coming from your house.
Now, I guess you could argue that any mold is caused by this, but if the mold has worked into your plaster and woodwork in your home it will be pretty much impossible to manage. You might as well pack up and move to a new house.

2. The mold isn't yoiur problem, its your cloning method.
Buy a plastic tub (I've mostly seen the ones where the lid is attached and splits at the middle used, buy a black one to discourage mold growth). Put two 15w under-the-counter style flourecent light fixtures, one on each flap. This should be acheivable for under $30. Take clones, applying a high quality cloning gel to the snipped end. I've seen both Olivias cloning gel and Advanced Nutrients Juicey Roots used to take clones. Juicey Roots is definately the best product out there. Stick the gel coated stem into a wet rockwool cube, or one of the other cloning pod options (sagnum moss and decomposed tree bark are both popular). Leave the clone in your incubator box for a week or two until roots start poking out the bottom. Spray your clones daily. It is important to maintain a warm, humid environment or your clones will not root.

^^This is the method I have seen used by the most successful closet growers. I don't know anyone who grows hydroponic, so I don't know if your system might be especially prone to mold growth. I know that black is the best color of container to use because it discourages mold growth. Make sure that your clones are well rooted before putting them in your hydro kit. Hope this helps!
