⫸STICKY⫷ Post your Recordings - Lets hear em, Kid.mp3

thanks bigfan...you know what the weird thing is though?when i started making samples i never actually CONSCIOUSLY tried to go for a buckethead type thing...it's when people started saying the same thing(that it has that kind of vibe) that i decided to go with a similar formula..but with my own stamp of course..

^sweet playing bro you are ripping that apart!!! def sounds like a tele! nice work tho especially throwin chords in there gives it a real dirty sound :)

and damn you can play. My only suggestion is getting me to make you a sweet drum track to it :) ah hell maybe i'll just steal ur guitar sounds anyway ;) jk

listened to your other stuff too; makes me want to quit guitar! and i just got a brand new warmoth strat yesterday!

@morningglory nice playing too; you gotta mix your voice higher on that first track man :) let it shine! 2nd one is right on tho. nice work. What are you recording with cause that is crisppp?

@fifleman: you need to mix your voice to cut through the mix; i'd also sing more from the chest to get a deeper sound, other than that i like it :)

@akautonomics: you are fucking awesome! seriously impressive and original, love the vibe. If i'm ever in TO i want to see you at a show.

^euphoria you are too good - stop posting here and get someone to pay you to play

the hi hat in that last song didn't agree with me - he should have said something not repeated the same line over and over lol sry thats' how i think of sounds. like each instrument is talking

Yes you guys are pretty cool, anyone posing with a Cockatiel, a Mallard and an Eagle gets my vote. Had a listen, I thought the production was exellent, did you record it yourself?, Good songs too, shades of Grandaddy without guitars, or The Beta Band without the beats, rave on guys.

^my music is the same i guess but not many people get spun or trip all the time :(

@the peaker artex peeler: that is cool as hell man; it's like you develop a theme almost and then do it again and add to it. How do you think about composition? and what equipment do you use? really nice stuff. damn.

some new stuff up on my reverbnation; i've finally made the transition to all analog and no more digital garbage made a huge difference.

^Cheers Robo, you pretty much got me sussed, (develop a theme and then do it again and add to it). (How do you think about composition?) I don't I'm usually too loaded, thats why a lot of my stuff doesn't change key and goes on for ages. Checked out your page, Phorzeine right, good stuff stuck in my head is classic, the way the mash of voices still seem to go with the beat is very cool, also that 5-MeO tune, what a riff %). I do some more techno type stuff as well, try this https://soundcloud.com/lungmanuk/the-persistence-of-mammaries
Did it about 12 years ago when I started using Fruity Loops

haha thanks; i really like that idea of developing a theme it's super interesting to the ears

when i compose i want everything to be syncopated or a bit off and not really harmonic. I don't like to do traditional verse verse chorus type stuff though sometimes i resort to it because it's what works. I like to take one idea and build upon it without using music theory just frequencies. Each verse i like to add something in, usually subtle, and keep doing that until the end, chorus varies, i like doing breaks and pauses. TBH i think of composition mostly in pictures and colors or moods. I'll think, "i want this to sound like a circle" and create a melody that is like c g a g d b c or something like that.

I try to keep in mind that the space between the notes is as important as the notes themselves (dr. dre lol). It's true though. Stuck in my head is a classic example of stream of consciousness music for me, it just had to be expressed, to the average ear though - it might be a bit much :)

5-meo-dalt i wrote on a 3 day psych binge, smoked a gram of 5-meo-dalt during the process :) Appreciate the feedback - it's hard to find these days!

mammaries: god that bass sounds so good and that flanging sound goes so well with it. :) what a cool song you are awesome! I think it's hilarious it builds up to saying LSDDDDDDD haha very creative and you did this 12 years ago? that makes me want to cry haha.

your mixes sound great as well; it's taken me forever to get where i'm at and i am just learning how to mix properly - seems like a never ending journey. I feel so generic now after listening to those 2 tracks lol seriously nice work! sounds like tons of work goes into making those songs.

My music (hit once)

Everyone:

I have posted into this forum three times (2x I was an asshole) and this will be the fourth. I want some feedback from you guys, the bluelight crew, into my music. I have written and played guitar for over 10 years, and the fact is, when it is one person (or just my parents), i get extremely nervous and feel not worthy enough. I play by myself, and record the same. This is just me playing.

go to the link, and click on number seven, 07 from the soul https://myspace.com/feobot/music/songs

Please let me know what you all think. And listen to the whole thing, and let yourself go.

Much love,
BP
