For the ones here on the board who's native language is music, the most advanced form of communication we humans are capable of, or at least just dable with making and oragnizing sounds and noises to some extend, show you instrument(s) of choise!

It could be all from a grand piano, a saxophone, a guitar, or a drum machine, or even just a midi keyboard.

I suppose my main instrument would really be my computer, as I view myself more of a composer kind of musician, really, than an instrumentalist, and utilize digitally manipulated sound quite a lot in my compositions.

But when I do play a physical instrument, which I do several times, everyday, my prefered instrument of choise is a just 28.5" scale length lowly LTD (ESP's budget brand) B4-JR, sub-short scale, bass, tuned in G#1 standard, tenor bass, tuning, and equipped with an EMG Geezer Butler signature P pickup.

Don't get me started ...

I, myself, am ancient and own some guitars that I purchased in my childhood that are closer to me than any human on earth. I'm not talking about how much money they are worth because money cannot buy the connection.

I'll follow up with a pic or two when I get the energy up to snapping a photo...

It is not an expensive guitar, but one of my absolute favorites. It's made of pine, covered in the very same laminate that was used on toilet seats in the US during the era,
The very humble Fender Champion. It was considered a "student model" but snarled like a mountain cat when pushed and sang as sweet as an angel when you laid back.

I bought it for $25 US and I'm pretty sure it's still a relative bargain guitar in the marketplace.

PRS is a brand I've never owned, and to be honest, never played. It looks ergonomic and comfortable.

It's tuned to dropped Db. the PRS. Their sound is unmatched. They started to make 'cheap' versions of them the following year with the santana models. not the santana signature. However that ce22 at the time was an entry level PRS. @Cheshire_Kat

I make music, but share very little.
I just assume there is no interest. Doesn't stop you from playing though right?

Well I was playing more frequently before I recorded the scratch tracks for the Homegrown Drama album. or like getting ready for playing at a campsite at a festival.
My studio engineers won't respond to my inquiries about any progress or where it's at.
Venues won't book my act for a show. Not that I could play a 4 hour set like they require around here.
But it's like what's the point. We lost a lot of good years at the hands of the American Idol shit heads.
Homegrown got cancelled before it got started. and I don't have to buy any new gear for it to sit on a shelf.
I'm not happy about it. just putting it fwiw. My music is the best that the market has ever seen. heat too hot to handle. so they silenced my voice because they don't know how to handle it.

Here's a story about my past I promised @kiely I would eventually share.

I got married and my (to be) wife booked us coach tickets on the SF Zephyr so we could travel back to SF on our honeymoon.

On the first leg of the journey I pulled out my guitar and started a ad-hoc sing-a-long in the car we occupied.

I started off with some standards; then like any good minstrel I begged them to "call the tune". We all sang and passed the time westward through Iowa, and my wife and I pent our honeymoon night in the vista dome heading westward. We awoke to a group of musicians who were discussing the proper turn around to "Tie a Yellow ribbon" , but we were famished and went to the dining car to break our fast. Afterwards we went back to the coach and retrieved a joint I had packed for when we could find a place to smoke it. We moved towards the front of the train all the way up to between the baggage car and the rest pf the train and started to smoke our joint when we were confronted by the brakeman.

I started to explain that we on our honeymoon and begged him not to turn us in. He said he had heard us in the coach and asked us if we were in a band. I replied that, yes I was in a bend, but this was nothing to do with that and we just wanted to pass the time with others. Instead of throwing us off the train he offered us a Pullman room and told us to keep our mouths shut because there were people that would pay to get that room.

My take:

Music is love that you get to share. Never miss an opportunity to share your love.

I don't use the pad very often but got it and some marching sticks for when I want to work on my chops with some flam-a-diddles or rolls and rim-shots.

The telly I strum a couple times a week still, but I'm not nearly as knowledgeable about guitar as I am drums.

I always found playing music live was one of the best forms of therapy you could get. especially with an audience.
The industry took that privilege from me. Sort of like big pharma took my ability to enjoy caffeine in all it's glory.
The parallel to getting stripped intake into the jails.
They don't care, they just will spend a lot of money to cancel anything that is based on living free.
