Whether it be music, an article, a book, art, or anything else. I think TDS could use a thread where we can share the things that inspire us to think think more positively and change our lives for the better.

I'll start with an article that I came across this morning about passion and careers.

3 simple steps to making money from any passion

Here is a TED talk that goes along with that article. :)

"Everything was impossible until somebody did it"

Now, your turn. ;)

Macklemore - otherside.

This song was a wake up call from all the fake, dark and twisted hip hop and rap I'd been listening to all my life that promoted and glorified drug use. I strongly suggest anyone going through a hard time gives it a listen, I know at times of desperation and times I wanted to relapse during my sobriety I'd put this on and it would cease all my cravings whatsoever. They should be putting rap like this on the radio instead of the crap we hear normally. It would send out a realistic, truthful and correct message to all those who thinks drugs are cool, dope whatever.

Good thread idea spork :)

3 things stand out for me -

Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby is the one novel that made me want to become a writer, because of how simply incredible his prose is. I didn't think words could be so powerful.
Pink Floyd's Time inspired me to make the most of my life before it's too late (those lyrics honestly scared me).
And I've got to say the entire work of Led Zeppelin just convinced me that there is beauty in the world that's worth living for; the one song that stands out is Since I've Been Loving You.

I know christianity isn't exactly a favorite topic or whatever around here, but here's a piece of scripture that makes something inside me spark every time I think about it. Take it for what you will.

"Be strong and of a good courage, fear not nor be afraid of them - for the lord your god, he it is that goes with you, he will not fail you not forsake you."

Deuteronomy 31:6

^I'm not religious, but I think there's a lot to be said about faith. Whether it be faith that your alarm clock will work in the morning, faith that your car will run, even faith that things might not go in your favor when you're going through a breakup, or faith in religion or spirituality.

All I'm saying is that even though the word faith is often tied with religion, but it doesn't necessarily have to be. Faith can keep us going in our most difficult times and that is truly something amazing.

Art nights at my house.:)

Gather materials. Invite people to come play. Make a huge mess. Experiment without worrying about any final "product".

I did this last night and it was totally inspiring to be around a whole group of people that went from loud talking and laughing to total absorption in what they were doing. It was magical. And we ended up blanketing my whole house with beautiful handmade papers.

Lol strange...I came here to post the same thing

Watching my float drop, setting the hook, and watching a 10 lb steelhead (rainbow trout) break the surface and tail dance across the river for 15 yards or more. The best part is popping the hook out to release them. It's BETTER than drugs for me, and I LOVE drugs...
