post some pop!

Yes I actually read that Biography about 2006 it was, learning to live tee totally after a decade of psychedelic obliteration, and I found the book so disappointing and untelling overall.

I've only skimmed over that except I linked, but it's way more interesting.

I need energy and comfort first though, so I kept the page open both for this and I thought it may interest you too,
OH cool it just loaded, needed refresh.

It's a book I just confirmed, as in available on ebay atm 9 quid lol.

In a normal mindframe, I'd buy now. But I'm living in the day, I wouldn't be energised to read enough to justify it right now.

Maybe shortly though.

I think that excerpt came from this book. I'm betting you might have read it yonks ago possibly.

Though it's not exactly MOR by anyone's standards, this was probably the most pop-oriented song that Scott Walker released in the 1980s – there was even a music video for it! Unfortunately, it never became a smash hit as a single, despite a radio-ready running time of 3m50s... maybe DJs didn't like the song's anti-title ("Track 3") and kept it out of airplay?

From the host of late-comers,
A miracle enters the streets.
Shining with rain,
He is shaking to wash the murder away.
The shadow of the son made the son a shadow,
It's never night when I die.
That desert clouds under and so Lord lightens,
Sleepers wait there with wounds in their sides.

Rock of cast-offs – bury me,
Hide my soul, and sink us free.
Rock of cast-offs – bury me,
Hide my soul, and pray us free.

Got me waving my arms around like a conductor. Total pop banger, they played this on the channel 9 morning show for about 18 months. Start the show, v brief weather report & now lets got to "Flowers Grow". I was blown away & i reckon half of australian population got weird jumps in intelligence. David Thrussell ya ______ _____ ______! !! ______ !!!!!

Please elaborate!! I had to let that sit for a while.

When you say defined by what it wasnt...do you mean that disco gotswept away by all the hate..and so...was it a corporate fucking swoop maneuver. Were they the architects. I mean haha why would the USA not go atomic against Disco?
Idk im just having a laugh. I dunno much about disco except there was a groundswell of rage and in this moment, ive realised thats govt...to me.. Bryan adams thing is fascinating too
just meant that the 80s were reactionary decade against the 70s but also there was the punk rock ethic of questioning authority and especially ragging on the banality and stupidity of a lot of popular culture. But that wasn't me I was too young so I soaked it all up from The A-Team to The Love Boat to Bryan Adams and also this band

I did read the Beano though lol.

I have hundreds dating back to when the comic sold for 2D, before even the English Penny.

As child, best friends we loved the weekly Beanos.

I never got into the Dandy. But I would if I did it all again, I like how Desperate Dan lives.

Happy, big, strong, comfortable. Always eating pies.

But I always recognised who has the best of the best. The greatest superbero IMO.

Makes Neo look like an amoeba.

Billy Whizz. He cannot lose. He doesn't even need the superpower of pausing time.
He's invincible. Can avhieve, do, anything in a split second.

So I did eventually turn my nose into a few books and websites, from 2005 and Lyme. It was vital to study, research, uncover and learn, in order to make sense, survive and heal.

Loads of food diet & nutritional stuff intially. I learnt a few things.

But until then, I remember that I had this belief or feeling that I was somehow preserving my own individuality by not reading everything everybody else was saying and reciprocating and having it impress upon my imagination.

I remember speaking with a friendly builder when working on a building site 21 years ago and he found my attitude strange here and insisted that there was so much to be gained from reading books while I presented my case that I am preserving my own unique thought processes and imagination.

I can actually see it from both angles now and I do genuinely feel that by having taken that path I developed in a different way more freely mentally without blocking the possibility to learn later on in life.

So you see I really am actually very uneducated.
Dandy was great! Izzy Skint?

I think the one i read was called "___in the woods" or similar.
I hate stealing things these days. Really need to fix that. Addictions to info Die Hard :(

The Eighties. A blood war decade. Reaganism, crack cocaine programs, absolutely bullshit "Satanic panic" [hysteria btw.]

Just to clarify in case, what i meant about Disco was that you could see how
1) black music
2)) people seem to like it, dance to it
3) self empowerment message at the root of it
4) expanding the black, gay, emerging sensuality culture. 70s, as you said. Exacto.
5) foment working class/populist hatred to vandalise & kill everything
6) ??
7) Easy Street Baby $$$$

Thanks.

Come to think about it how we gonna refer to the last two decades in the future? Cannot say the 21s or 22ssurely?
7) Easy Street Baby $$$$

....but it led to Hip Hop.
And this is a good thing how?never mind you are not obliged to answer obviously. Of all the mindless crap out there Hip Hop takes the cake and wins hands down. You wanna write and perform a Hip Hop song and make some. $$$? Lemme know I will send you the “4recipe”or post it maybe. Oh and don’t concern yourself if you think you cannot sing or play an instrument: neither necessary for this experiment. being able to do both is overkill for this experiment.

1) no flags
2) enduring. hip hop will last until the very end
3) inherently r-r-r-r-r-rebellion
4) if you or i were in new york when those trains started getting made over, we'd feel that pure Electricity
5) in the usa theyve been decimating education, arts, & mental health for soooo long.
6) just a personal opinion but hip hop is part of the galaxies Universal Redress Scheme

Disco music was a Grassroots movement against the oppressive strictures of Prog Rock/Classic Rock

Dunno if you want that tbh. Some subjects get me blitzed like extra.

Like was said about Herschel Krustovski..."he's a desperately unhappy man!"
(referring to myself btw!!)
