Hello,

I wanted to finally make a post about harm reduction, that I just have started using.

Are you sick of having to find a hidden vein many times a day, missing the vein and creating bruises from going through the vein. Are you also embarrased to show you arms from all the punctures. Well here is something I tried and will always use in the future.

Sometimes when I am at the doctor, I look to see if they have anything that might be useful to me. This one time, the office I was in had IV starter kits so I took one to see how they work and if I could put one in myself. Man was this a blessing. Not only did I figure out how to put it in, but it now made multiple injections a thing of the past. Once you have the IV in you, you have a port that you can just connect the syringe to and pump it in. Instead of having multiple holes a day, you only have one, which dramatically reduces hiding veins, busted veins and the overall looks of your arms.

Another good thing about these is that you can put them in you leg and then where pants, so no one will know you have an IV in you.

I have used an IV for more then two days as they do in the hospital, but you must have a IV bag with saline solution in it always dripping liquid into the tube to keep the blood out or else the blood can clot in the tube and then break off and do the bad things blood clots do. I have had some clots form in the tube, but they are so small the only vein it might block is the tiniest ones in your body and I would think that it would break up or get filtered by the liver before that happens.

Using this method dramatically reduces the harm done by many injections and reduces the amount of possible infections from all of the injections. The IV kits and saline bags can be bought online if you look at medical supply stores. Unless you are alone by yourself, you obviously can't walk around with an IV bag hanging from you. You do not have to flush the IV tube continuosly, just when you see blood in it. They also have a clip that stops the flow in the tube and if you have that, no flushing is necessary.

It is no more difficult to put an IV in then it is to put a needle in since an IV kit is simply a needle with a plastic sheath on it that will eventually go into you vein.

If you have not heard of this before, please try it as it will dramatically reduce harm to your body.
