Possible Severe Allergic Reaction?

I was wondering if it is possible to have a severe allergic reaction to mdma.
I am planning on trying some molly this weekend; however, I have a severe allergy to nuts and that includes every type, especially peanuts. In the past I have gone into anaphylactic shock from eating peanuts and aspirating some of the peanut oil by mistake. My lungs collapsed and my heart stopped on the way to the hospital, fortunately i made it. However, i dont want to go through this experience again and especially not while rolling lol.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

dont eat any nuts during your experience lol, welcome to bluelight, have fun and be safe.

It is rare, but possible. The method of seeing whether or not you're allergic is to take a very small amount of either your powder (<5mg) or pill (shave off a small piece or two) and eat them. Wait a few hours and if nothing bad happens, you should be good to go.

If you want to take that extra step, just make sure you start with a smaller dose, and then take more as needed.

so should i eat it? or just put it on my lip. ive heard if the lip swells it means ur allergic to it. i def dont want to blow the molly cuz that will go directly to my lungs. Thanks

Eat the small amount of powder (less than 5mg) or the one or two small shavings of your pill. This is the ideal way to test for any allergy.

MDMA is produced from Safrole, a product of sassafras trees. It is not connected to nuts as far as I know, so there's no real reason to believe that if you have a bad nut allergy, you could have a bad MDMA allergy.

I should think that as long as you aren't horribly allergic to many other things, you're probably safe taking MDMA. I am not a doctor or allergist though, so take my words with a grain of salt.

ya im not horribly allergic to anything else, i was just wondering about any nut correlation. Thanks for your help man, i feel alot better about rolling now.

It is possible to be allergic to all sorts of things - so why not MDMA (or the drugs used in the process of making it).

As stated above take a tiny amount of the product and gauge how you react before consuming hugh amounts.

You should rub it on your lip before consuming..

But tbh.. i don't think there's ever been a case of someone being allergic to MDMA.. anyone wanna link me to 1?

Also.. I can't think of a case of someone being allergic to ANY recreational drug (cept minor allergies to maybe painkillers?).. anyone wanna link me to 1?

*I've thought for some time now that allergy tests are a waste of time..When's the last time you heard of someone having an allergic reaction to X drug..

That being said.. you could be allergic to an adulterant (penicillin perhaps?)

*I'm not saying it can't happen.. but does everyone perform a 1-5mg allergy test dose of medicines you get from the doctor / buy from a pharmacist?

An allergic reaction does not often happen the first time you take a medication. A reaction is much more likely to occur the next time you take that medication. If you have a reaction the first time, you probably were exposed to the medication before without being aware of it.

Not all adverse reactions to drugs are allergies. In fact, fewer than 10% of adverse drug reactions are allergic. Other causes of adverse reactions are interactions between two or more drugs, inability to break the drug down completely in the body (as occurs with liver or kidney damage), overdose, and irritating side effects such as nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. If you have experienced a nonallergic drug reaction, it is important to describe it as such to medical personnel-not as an allergy. If you don't know just describe the reaction the best way that you can.

But seeing as you have a severe nut allergy i would advise first rubbing it on your lip.. then half an hour later (if no swelling happens) to swallow a small amount.. I bet you're not allergic to it but better safe than sorry, huh?

* If the symptoms are mild, such as itching and localized hives, the provider may switch you to a different type of medication, recommend that you stop the medication, or, if appropriate, prescribe antihistamines to relieve your symptoms.

* If you cannot reach this provider for advice quickly, play it safe and go to a hospital emergency department.

* If you are having any "systemic" symptoms such as fever or vomiting, you should stop taking the medication and be seen immediately by a medical professional.

* If you are having difficulty breathing, your throat is swelling, or you are feeling faint, you may be having an anaphylactic reaction. Go immediately to a hospital emergency department. Do not attempt to drive yourself. If no one is available to drive you right away, call 911 for an ambulance. While waiting for the ambulance, start self-treatment.

And self treatment involves:

Do not attempt to treat severe reactions or to "wait it out" at home. Go immediately to the nearest emergency department or call an ambulance.

While waiting for the ambulance, try to stay calm.

* If you can identify the cause of the reaction, prevent further exposure.

* Take an antihistamine (one to two tablets or capsules of diphenhydramine [Benadryl]) if you can swallow without difficulty.

* If you are wheezing or having difficulty breathing, use an inhaled bronchodilator such as albuterol (Proventil) or epinephrine (Primatene Mist) if one is available. These inhaled medications dilate the airway.

* If you are feeling light-headed or faint, lie down and raise your legs higher than your head to help blood flow to your brain.

* If you have been given an epinephrine kit, inject yourself as you have been instructed or have someone else perform the injection. The kit provides a premeasured dose of epinephrine, a prescription drug that rapidly reverses the most serious symptoms of anaphylaxis (see Follow-up).

* Bystanders should administer CPR to a person who becomes unconscious and stops breathing or does not have a pulse.

If at all possible, you or your companions should be prepared to tell medical personnel what medications you take and your allergy history

I don't want to scare you but your allergy is pretty serious. And you never know what they made the MDMA with. Like maybe they had just eaten a peanut butter sandwich and didn't wipe off their counters before making MDMA.

It's something to worry about for all drugs.

That would probably be my biggest fear.

Friend of mine has severe peanut allergies, can't even eat food thats made on a production line with other nut products...pretty lame.

But i've seen him eat over half a gram of molly with no consequences. But thats him & her started out small. You should do the same, no more than 5 mg like the other guy was saying.

thanks guys, im gonna rub it on my lip and wait an hour and see how it reacts. I was also wondering if it is ok to take 20mg prednisone before hand. Ive taken prednisone after ive eaten nuts in the past and it stopped my reaction from progressing to an anaphylactic state. Also im not allergic to penicillin, if that means anything. Also my friend told me hes picking molly and that its pretty pure but again being an illegal drug u never know. So i was wondering if its possible to be allergic to any adulterants such as meth. Im sorry for asking so many questions but i really want to try this drug but i want to be on the safe side. Thanks again

^ Yeah you should be able to take prednisone without any adverse affects.

Also.. I highly doubt you're allergic to any ingredients in the pill but like you said you are gonna do just rub a small amount on your lip, if no swelling occurs, swallow a small amount.. if all is good; gogogo.
