Possible serotonin syndrome

Last night, I took some MDMA. I started off with 150mg, redosed another 50 during the peak to extend it.

I had been outside most of the night smoking cigarettes and hitting my DMT cart. I find that MDMA removes all of the dysphoria I normally feel on DMT, letting me enjoy the psychedelic experience without fear. I only smoke cigarettes on psychedelics and MDMA, as the maois in tobacco mildly potentiate them. (Yes I know it's a bad idea to mix maois and MDMA, but I figured it was such a small amount that it was alright)

I felt like I just wasn't rolling as hard as I wanted to, so I went back in and took another .5.

When I went back outside to smoke and hit my dmt vape, I began to trip really hard and was loving it, when out of nowhere I felt like I was going to pass out, my body became extremely cold (way more than usual with MDMA), I began heavily sweating to the point of my tripping mind thinking I was literally melting. My head hurt, I had a fever, my muscles hurt, and my visual hallucinations went from fractal patterns to everything looking like it was melting or like wet paint dripping.

I put the cigarette out, stumbled my way back inside (nearly falling twice), drank some water and laid down. In about 10 minutes, I was back to rolling like normal.

Does this sound like serotonin syndrome? I always thought that was something which required medical attention and wouldn't go away on its own.
Perhaps because tobacco is a very short acting maoi?

Or maybe it was something else entirely.

I assume you mean 0.05/50 mg?

Are you susceptible to (uncomfortable) nicotine OD otherwise? Like, that sounds analogous to something you could experience also from too large dose of nicotine too fast, maybe combined with too much carbon dioxide in system. Commonly people experience that by smoking without filter or smoking tobacco with bong or gravity bong tho', regular cigarettes commonly don't cross required threshold.

Yes, another 50MG. My bad.
I seem to have a high tolerance to nicotine as I am a chain vaper. I vape nicotine most of the day. I haven't suffered a nicotine overdose since I was younger and used to pack my weed pipe with tobacco/weed together. Last night it was just normal, filtered cigarettes. Normally, for me, a nicotine overdose is primarily a stomach issue, inducing vomiting.
I definitely think that second redose was the primary factor, as it was the only thing I did differently from an average roll.

I kinda doubt serotonin syndrome would sort itself out after a sip of water and laying down for 10 minutes. Did you actually measure your body temp? Well technically the symptoms should vanish "within 24 hours of discontinuing the serotonergic agent". I guess 10 minutes could qualify to come down from the DMT but it still would seem wild that SS can only last for half an hour or so.

I did check my temperature. I don't remember what it was at this point, but it was over 100. I checked it again when the symptoms subsided and it was right at 98.

I do agree though that it probably wasn't serotonin syndrome. I think it was a combination of factors that just had some of the same symptoms. The fact that drinking a glass of water seemed to help suggests that I might've been dehydrated.

Dehydration + taking more than my usual dose + smoked a whole pack of cigarettes in 1.5 hours + half of my DMT cart + I was probably mildly tired as I had been wondering around outside most of my roll. To my now sober mind that sounds like a recipe for discomfort. I probably just got hyperslapped while dehydrated and on a too high dose of mdma. In the future I'll remember that and not push my limits that hard. At least not alone. (I had my girlfriend on the phone most of the night but that's different than having someone around that can help in an emergency)

The part that really made me worry was the way my body temperature rapidly rose higher than it normally does on mdma, and the way I began sweating like crazy.

I didn't mention it in my initial post, but at the same time, my nose became extremely clogged up and I couldn't blow it. This passed at the same time as the other symptoms. Anyone ever heard of that happening in relation to MDMA?

Worth mentioning that having some of these symptoms individually could just be caused by too much MDMA.

That totally makes sense and explains the quick recovery.
