Even better crush your pills and dissolve it in water and filter this way even glass would be separated

Excellent idea! I've never done this, so it didn't cross my mind. What type of filter material should one use when doing this?

as long as no pressure is involved, a normal paper-coffee-filter should be ok, i think.

so it's doubtful that any damage would be done to a person's GI tract from ingesting small bits of (I assume) aluminum. (the aluminum would most likely dissolve partially from your stomach acids)

Aluminium dust is generally considered to be pretty toxic. I don't know how much is toxic, becauses there have been limited tests, and the FDA made an exception for it long ago.
Probably one small bit that gets ground easily will be harmless, if it's even Al. If it doesn't break down, then just remove it.
