Gonna try to avoid the sourcing aspect of this, but I figured it would be good to let you guys know if you didn't know about it. I did a data breach checkup on one of my emails, and it looks like a popular vendor from the Netherlands that sells "RC'"s was hacked in 2021.

Maybe you already know about this, maybe you don't, but If you ever had an account registered on that site, your password may have been compromised. Its not a problem if you use different passwords for everything, but say you use that same password and email everywhere, you could potentially have unauthorized access to your accounts. And yeah that information gets sold on the internet to whackos, hackers, and scammers.

I found this out through Avast, a premiun antivirus service I got. But you can probably do an email breach lookup through other means, too, possibly free ones idk.

Do with it what you will but thought id mention this.

that's 3 years ago
i guess by now they would have gotten any data worth stealing
have you more information on that?

Yeah, it was too late but it's still good as a general warning for people to be mindful about opsec. I feel like I made an account with this vendor when I was much younger and dumber (as hard to believe as that is) lol so yeah one of my main shits been linked to it at least 🫣😬🥺
Its also just good for people to know that, yeah if effected, then your identity has been connected to a RC vendor. Just good to know.

No more information than that, about it, I don't know that I was really effected and it was an old password that I no longer use, but the information from these hacks just wind up going to a massive database of personal information that various undesirables collect for, whatever plots and schemes. The effects may not be visible or clear, immediately, but it can effect someone for a very long time for your name or financial information to get thrown in with all of that.

That email had been breached before that too, in the last.fm hack in 2016. Same password though lol, and it hasn't been my email password for a while. I cant remember if I knew about it in '16 when it happened and just didnt care, or just didnt even know. Either way, that email has gone to the trash bin for permanent.

I'm willing to bet that a metric fuck ton of bl members were effected by this.
