Hey all. I made some ghetto ass Poppy Tea about 5 months ago, and forgot that I saved some of it, unrefrigerated.

Anyway. I say it's ghetto, because I didn't use PODS, I used seeds from the damn store. I took a little over 1 pound and let them sit in luke warm water for about 20 minutes I think, then drained the water into a 1 litre water bottle.

I remember after I did it, I drank about half of it. It tasted aweful, and I don't particularly remember any good feelings from it.

Anyway, I got about a half-litre left over that was sitting in a cabinet. And I remember I put real lemon juice in there as well for flavor.

My question is, is the tea still safe to drink? Or do you think it's expired or whatever by now? It still smells AWEFUL.

Also, based upon my method of how I did this, do you think I did it correct? Or do you think this is all just wasted time and energy?

no, it probably contains an untold number of pathogens such as fungi etc. don't consume it.

Say you had a cup full of lemonade and left it in the fridge for 5 months - would you think it were safe to drink?

It probably has bacteria or something growing in it by now. I wouldn't use it, you could probably get sick and poppy seeds are very hit and miss. With my tolerance, I probably would never get high off them, so if you have a tolerance then it's probably not worth it. :\

i would reboil it and then reduce the liquid down a lot
then air dry the remainder and scrape up the residue and encapsulate it and take that
thats how i used to do it

This

^ fungi and bacteria can product toxic by products that won't necessarily be degraded by boiling.

There's no way it's worth the risk.

and this.

Since there is NO safe way for you to consume this, I am going to close this. please do your intestines a solid and not drink this.
