I've got a load of poppy seeds left over from making tea with the pods and was wondering if, rather than just making tea out of them, I could do something a bit more interesting.
The plan was to fill a large glass container with them, add enough IPA to make a fairly fluid mixture and leave it sealed for a while, agitating regularly.
Then I plan on evaporating (in a well ventilated space) the IPA, which should hopefully leave some crude form of opium putty if I'm correct.
I've not been able to find a decent discussion about this via google, but i've found a post on here of a poster using methylated spirits. I don't fancy using that due to residue left over from drying.
Especially when 99% IPA is easy to come by.
Can anyone offer any comments or tips?
