Poppers / Isopropyl nitrite?

I recently for the first time tried poppers containing Isopropyl nitrite. Why dont more people use these? I didn't get a major headache after using around 8ml in one session just a minor one kind of, wasn't bad at all though. Cant wait to try this shit out while tripping or on something stronger then cannabis/synthetic cannabinoids.

Also what are the other solvents that are sold in poppers like? I know theres a few but maybe some are illegal or some shit, Im in the UK. Also is this bad for my health at all? I am not talking about long term use, just occasionally buying 10 - 20ml's. N20 is probably better but I cant get a hold of any, poppers just seem like a good novel substance for a change up in things.

Also remeber, im taking about Isopropyl nitrIte not Isopropyl nitrAte. Its easy to confuse the two.
I think this is the right forum as well, correct me if I am wrong.

They're pretty shit to be honest, I never got much recreational effect off them either.

I don't think there's many health risks associated with occasional use, though it can irritate your nose and skin, especially if you accidentally spill a bit.

In general, i'd avoid solvents, they tend to have shitty recreational effects and be very unhealthy. N2O is an exception, though I wouldn't really classify it as a solvent.

Yeah I was just mentioning N20 as its taken in the same way and though of in the same mindset if you get me, there not amazing especially due to the very short duration especially with Isopropyl nitrite, im really wondering if any of the other solvents that are marketed in other brands of poppers would last longer / feel better as it is something I am interested in at least trying out.

It's technically an inhalant and the risks associated with inhalants technically exist with poppers. They do, however, have legit medical uses so I imagine its not as bad for you as say, huffing gasoline or computer duster.

I've used poppers a few times and they can be fun, but excessive/chronic use can cause issues. I've noticed that doing it a few times over and over in a short span of time causes severe headaches, lightheadedness, etc.

Tread with caution IMO.

Not knowingly come across the Isopropyl but poppers used to be a.k.a. Amyl Nitrate / Amyl Nitrite, or that's what it was known as 20 odd years ago anyways. Seems Googling they were actually most likely to have contained Isobutyl Nitrite but that's been listed as a Class 2 carcinogen under EU law as of 2007 and illegal to sell. There's a grey area on legality generally as the Medicines Control Agency has in recent years classed them as a psychoactive / mood altering substance covered by the Medicines Act which technically makes them illegal to supply by anyone other than licenced outlets like chemists. Suppliers have traditionally got round that selling it as a room deodoriser not for human use and still do despite the MCA's classification. They're perfectly legal to posess however.

Main downsides are drop in blood pressure and heart arrhythmia so not good for anyone with a problem with either of those normally, and seems to be an issue for sufferers of glaucoma. It's a skin irritant so extended use sniffing tons of the stuff can cause some problems round the mouth and nose but otherwise they're classed low risk.

Loooooong history of use in the gay scene where it's used as a muscle relaxant for anal sex, used to regularly use it at raves when I was E-ing, bottles being commonly passed round and though that really does give a massive rush I'd usually regret it later. It's a pretty shitty buzz. The novelty soon wears off.
