So my long time friend recently had what seemed to be a short episode of schizophrenia. We used drugs together for around 3 years but we took it to a whole new level over the past 5-6 months. We smoked weed habitually, coke, mdma, 4-mec, 25INbome, LSD, shrooms, apvp, 5meodalt, methamphetamine, xanax, DXM were regularly used. My friends dad has schizophrenia and my friend was on meds for it when he was around 15 for a short period of time.

So about 2 weeks ago he came home from work and me and a few other people were at his house smoking with this crazy look in his eyes. He started saying all this crazy shit about how he had created an evil virus in his brain that he gave to all us that was going to end the world when he wanted. We didnt know what to think. He stayed with his mom for a few days then went to work again. He walked right up to one of the other waiters and asked if he could see the evil between his eyes. He then ran to the corner of the kitchen and paced back and forth laughing like a crazy person.

Im scared and worried for my friend, I dont know how to help. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

he needs to see a doctor.

i had drug induced psychosis which was similar to what you described. I had to be put on Seroquil for a period of time.

im now better and off it, so i think he should seek help.

He got seroquil. Iv seen him once since that incident and hes not the same. Im actually scared to hang with him anymore but he was like a big bro to me. I think that the 25I-Nbome flipped the schizo switch im afraid.

yeah that sounds about right.

I was told, with what i was using (Bath Salts - leagal spice) that certain drugs can hit shit in your brain that brings out underlying illnesses that were already there...

Scary as fuck huh? Makes you second guess everytime you blow a line or smoke a bowl

Drugs are the last thing your friend needs. He needs to see a doctor, get a few months of soberity and clear-headedness under his belt, then if things still are bad (might have had a pre-existing condition brought out by the drugs), possibly consider medication for the problem.

I don't think everyone who expirences drug induced psychosis needs to be medicated, sure if the symptoms persist after abstaining and reducing stress in your life, and the meds help, by all means do whats best for you. Just don't jump to conclusions that a script can fix the problem, or is the answer. Sometimes its just temporary, sometimes you screwed the pooch and opened up a can of worms in your head thats very difficult or impossible to deal with. Only time, and abstaining from ALL drugs, including medication designed to help will tell if you will recover, or need some chemical to fix the imbalance that was created.

I've been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, but right now, uh, it's not there, or at least, not enough to interfere with my life.

Meth and DXM makes my schizophrenia worse. Or better, if you like that sort of thing. Cannabis makes it worst. Opiates don't bug it. Maybe he should see a doctor? I'd reccomend amiltryptaline over seroquel, but seroquel should help. Or Zyprexa perhaps, I knew a schizo-affective guy that got good results from Zyprexa.

Sleep, exercise, and a healthy diet will help too! Good luck!
