Political Satire and Meme Megathread

Yeah, let's avoid discussing these issues. We've got an entire forum to that :)

That said, I didn't find Droppersneck's memes very funny either. Eye of the beholder, as jessefr says. I prefer clever memes that kinda slow burn you.

I know this is just a meme thread but I'd like to also point out that Trump supporters, nor really any political organisation, are 'proletariat'. The proletariat have no party and have no representative in this country. They are abandoned, shunned, and tread upon by the general population, and even by other proletariat.

the correct term is lumpenproletariat, or rather trumpenproletariat

I wonder if there are fewer right wing conservative memes because of a relationship between creative artistic types and left wing, liberal thinking. Generally artistic types trend left, I just wonder if that results in proportionally greater memes and graphics for left aligned beliefs.

Not saying any of it is right or wrong or good or bad, I don't even know for sure that the premise, that there aren't as many good right wing memes and such, is even true. Just a thought I had.

Also, I know it's not what this threads about, but it somehow feels wrong that there aren't more cute kittens here. Kitties have opinions too! :(

A common saying on the internet is "the left can't meme". The right is the counterculture ATM and all of the spiciest memes are on the right bc they are anti establishment. Yt, twitter, google, etc are going very hard against conservative content providers for a reason. Trump won largely bc of grass roots alt media sources and funny memes. Nothing is worse than left wing boomer memes on fb. I'm going to contribute to just this thread to red pill some of y'all on quality spicy memes. I even made a Bluelight memeball a few months ago. Memetics is something that greatly interests me.

I guess some of us have trouble following the logic that you can be both pro trump and anti establishment.

You heard him. If you wanna reply with text you gotta put it in an image with a picture behind it. Preferably with more cute kitties.

And since it has to be political too, here, I'll start with a kitty that looks like trump.

So yea, like that, only better. Go!

I guess some of us have trouble following the logic that you can be both pro trump and anti establishment.

Every aspect of the establishment is anti trump. From the mainstream media to the federal courts to the vast majority of every state/ federal agency. 91% of trump coverage from the msm is negative, courts challenge everything (even daca which obama admitted was unconstitutional) is challenged, even the Establishment/globalist part of his party is against him. All of tv, Hollywood, pop culture, etc is fervently anti trump. If this were 1977 the ramones would make a pro trump song at this point. The entirely of college campuses and the social justice warrior movement go out and assault physically and verbally any person that supports the leader of the free world. It may not seem like it to you being in Aussie ms Jess, but he is rock and roll circa 1952.. here's a meme

Droppers, I had to unapprove the anarcho-communism meme, it seems to be hosted on a crappy server and is causing page loading issues for some users. Feel free to repost it from another source though.

this is a little gem from my neighbourhood.

to put it in context, in a bit over a week will be a by-election for the federal seat of Batman (lol...i live in Batman) because the sitting member was found to be ineligible and he's a fucking idiot so he resigned.

as wikipedia says - "Located in Labor's traditional heartland of north Melbourne, Batman has been in Labor hands for all but two terms since 1910, and without interruption since 1969" - it's long been a safe labor seat.

but the inner north of melbourne is probably the most left-wing part of australia, and it's looking like the Greens are going to win the seat.
they came very close in the 2016

anyway, so the guy in the picture is the federal opposition leader (leader of the labor party) bill shorten.

he's been really indecisive on one of the most contentious topics in australian politics in years - a massive coal mine proposed to be built in queensland which would be an environmental catastrophe (especially for the great barrier reef) and result in massive carbon emissions when the extracted coal is inevitably burned.

there is huge public opposition to the mine - but mr shorten has been (to use the australian vernacular) fucken weak as piss - sometimes he sounds like he's supporting the mine...and sometimes he implies opposition to it.

he's really not convincing anyone (except the rusted-on ALP supporters) and has only really been vocally opposed to the mine being built recently - when this by-election battle with the greens came up, and when the whole project has started looking doubtful anyway.

so....bill depicted on the left is equivocating in 'inner city latte-sipping progressive" mode. trying to appeal to the folks here. vegan, coffee-in-hand (signifiers of melbourne) and pseudo intellectual babble about scepticism.
and bill on the right is hustling for the hi-vis mining industry votes and name-dropping rugby players - trying to appeal to voters elsewhere (rugby is more of a queensland/nsw thing - and he's drinking XXXX beer, which only QLDers drink, apparently). layin' on the ocker aussie accent real thick, mate, ("moit") aye.

so yah - two face bill.

anyway, even with the longwinded explanation it obviously won't mean much to anyone outside of australia - but i'm quite enjoying my neighbourhood being in the political spotlight, because it is a really politically engaged community - which is why we're going to elect someone who will use her political voice to actually represent a great amount of her constituents.
it's quite exciting actually - i've never voted for anyone in the lower house that's actually won before! :)
i'm hoping we can get the second green into federal parliament.

interesting. the nra board currently has 76 members - why did you choose to only show those 8?

is it because the full current board is 86% men and 93% white?

facts!

lol. nice try droppers but you fail this time :)
