Police seize $1.2 million worth of drugs from Phish fans

The cops should have let the people have fun at the concert. They aren't hurting anyone. But it's all about money. The chief and DA and mayor want big arrest numbers so they can get their promotions and more government funding. The drug war is bullshit.

Since these were arrests made on the highway, and the police mentioned marijuana as the primary drug found, I imagine a lot of the arrested got caught with such quantities of marijuana in their car that the police could smell it when they stopped them.

i think it must have gone down like this:
60 people with a ounce of weed =487,500
100 people with 100 pills of e = 300,000
and 34 people with a bit over 121 grams of coke each = 412,500

sounds like a good concert.
 
Hampton Roads fucking sucks! The cops in the area are straight up nazis. If you even look like a druggie they will find any reason fathomable to bust your shit. Everyone knows the 1.2 million is completely over exaggerated and they won't post the actual amounts of the drugs seized because everyone will rip them a new one. I don't know why phish decided to do 3 days at the hampton coliseum anyway that place is a hell hole.

You got that right. This area has a ridiculus attitude about all drugs....except alcohol. We got every flavor of pig known to the planet. City pigs, county pigs, state pigs, navy pigs, army pigs, air force pigs, DEA, FBI, ATF........ you'd think we wouldn't have any unsolved violent crimes, but they are all busy "takin down pot smokers" .
 
sounds like a load of shit to me. They probably got some pounds of weed, ounces of coke, X, shrooms and other various stuff. 1.2 million is just plain stupid.

I heard that a large drug bust was made that same weekend, completely unrelated, but they just lumped it in with the Phish total. This was part of the Phish haul too, each jar contains a zip:

Hell the cops probably included the weight of the mason jars in their findings too.

Police also confiscated MANY nitrous tanks, so if you figure how many balloons those tanks could have filled, x$10 a pop, yeah it adds up.

i heard people talking about there being 5 u-haul trucks behind the hooters where they were selling wholesale tanks.
that thing with the mason jars is nuts, talk about professional!
 
They probably got s shitload of blotter, and weighed the paper, that's the only way I could think of that they would come up with 1.2mil.
