LOS LUNAS, N.M. -- Police told Albuquerque TV station KOAT that several employees at a fast-food restaurant in Los Lunas cooked marijuana into several Isleta officers' hamburgers late Sunday night.

It happened at the Burger King on Main Street at about 11:30 p.m.

Investigators said two restaurant employees put the pot in the burgers and served them to two officers from the Isleta Police Department.

After noticing something was wrong, police said the Isleta officers ran a field test on the burgers and they came back positive for marijuana.

"They consumed about half the hamburgers each before they found that there was something in the food, " said Los Lunas police Lt. Joe Sanchez.

Los Lunas investigators said a total of three employees are facing charges, including marijana posession and aggravated battery on an officer.

shoulda spread budder on the buns. but what's the point? I wouldn't be surprised if a fair amount of cops have smoked or do smoke every now and then.

You CAN'T dose cops with hamburgers...

You have to use donuts.

What's the issue here?

A couple of idiots dosed two unsuspecting people. That's fucked up - regardless of whether their targets were friends or cops.

The aggrevated assault is probably due to a number of factors. The fact that they intentionally (and with pre-mediation) selected specific targets (cops) and inflicted harm on them. Why 'aggravated'? Well, it's probably due to the fact that these idiots acted pretty recklessly with an "indifference to human life". I presume these two cops were in a car... had the effects of the cannabis kicked in during a pursuit - or even during normal driving conditions - the results could have been pretty apalling.

Fuck them. Dosing people is not cool.

one could argue the burgers did more physical long term harm than the weed. What is 'harm'? Is it physical or emotional? How exactly did it harm them? Are we going to go by "what if's"? What if they got into a shoot out and missed thier target...etc.

One could argue that, but the long term effects aren't what's in question here.

Did the officers involved consent to the physiological change - mental or physical? If not, then it's wrong. End of.

Otherwise, you're going down the road of rationalizing spiking someone. Had it been a civilian (or anyone other than a cop), I doubt people would have taken it so lightly.

The dickheads in the burger joint acted recklessly and and with disregard for someone else's welfare. Had they dosed a random civilian's soda with GHB, I wonder what the reaction in this thread would have been?

Dosing and spiking people is just wrong. Ain't no way around it. Irresponsible and wrong.

Sure, its wrong. But police do a whole lot more wrong than that and get away with it.

Doesn't make it right, but let's put it in perspective here...

What perspective?

How do the negative actions of an anonymous number of cops, mitigate or provide 'perspective' for the deliberate spiking of someone's food?

The idiots in the burger joint deserve to go to jail.

It shits me to tears the number people on Bluelight who shout for legalisation and personal responsibility, yet simultaneously defend the irresponsible actions of pricks like these. Every time some idiot pulls a juvenile stunt like this, it provides justification for continued prohibition.

i agree with tambourine-man, but i think labeling the action as harmful was incorrect. seems to me more like an infringement of rights, which doesnt always mean harming someone.

princeton and the government seem to have slightly different meanings of the word. of course the govt's meaning is a blanket that could cover anything. I tend to go with the more physical meaning of the word.

They should have just cooked it with THC oil and the cops would have never suspected a thing. Heh, Adding an ounce to the fryer would be pretty funny if it worked but I don't know if the heat would destroy it or not. But yeah, dosing people is wrong.

Agreed. I don't think there are a lot of BL-ers who would advocate the dosing of unsuspecting individuals with anything, including pot.

And cops are people too, I've known a lot of cool ones and have some as friends, but dosing ANYONE is ethically wrong.

But you have to admit that there was a lot of humour to be extracted from this incident. After all, Burger King's slogan used to be, "Have It Your Way."

what a bunch of amateurs when I dosed cops I put some liquid LSD and Visine into their coca cola which was served to them through the drive through window. Tripping on acid while puking and having diarrhea now that must have been a blast.
