Discarding some old files, found this from almost exactly a year ago. I never got to finish it, it's only about half done, so could seem disjointed. Thought I'd post it anyway. I'd really have to get into a similar frame of mind to finish it and I'm just not in as dark a place right now to do so. Hope you enjoy it for what it's worth. Thanks

A Toast (incomplete)

I'd like to toast your gift, dear summer
Clothes stuck in closets, top-down cruises
Warm, sunny, leafy hugs
Late nights with fire-water muses
Kids chasing fluff, running from bugs

I'd like to raise a toast, dear world
To end of poverty and famine
To end of hate, abuse, neglect
I'd like the children to imagine
A perfect world, if but pretend

I'd like to raise a toast, dear friends
To one more life to get to know you
Without distractions, with less tears
We could be deer this time, a herd of emu
Who just won't know departing fears

I'd like to raise a toast, dear you
Fun, bottoms up, drinks, problems down
To somebody, to anything - just pour
I'd like to raise a toast, dear anyone
Or tell me why else we all came here for

I'd like to raise a toast, dear someone
Don't look around, don't pause, don't think
Just raise the glass and toast with me, oh anyone
Alas, but not a soul here drinks

Honest,, i dont think it is imcomplete,, seems the thought process was done and it was a great closure on the end,... great piece,, yeah alittle dark but some what uplifting,., as it seems you have yourself if you are in a better place,, great stuff I did enjoy it :)
